Suggestions for colour for walls? And what kind of blinds curtains?

Just got a woodburner stove installed. Still need to add a wood mantle at the top. Not sure what colour to paint the room now that it has been plastered. Also bay window, have taken the curtains down, any other ideas instead of curtains? I don't like how the curtains hung across the bay window so it cut a chunk of the room off when curtains were closed...

I would have blinds on those windows, perhaps even roman blinds.

Regarding a paint colour, what do you like? what colour is your suite?

Thanks daisy, would you put the Roman blinds where the metal curtain rail was or do you think they would fit in near the actual wooden window? I've never had Roman blinds and wondered if I maybe needed a bit more space at the too of the wooden window frame for those. I thought colour wise maybe sage green or something. The suite is a natural colour so could bring in darker more interesting colours with cushions. Thanks for your suggestions

Good evening!. Well your bay window shape is beautiful and you should make this a feature. Is privacy an issue?, if so opt for plantation shutters where light can still stream in, they look fantastic from the outside too. If privacy isn't an issue, I'd suggest Roman blinds in a beautiful fabric. Romans are a great way of creating a high end look on a limited budget as you don't need a lot of fabric so can opt for a statement fabric. Choose fabric first, lick out a neutral an tailor paint around that. The furniture looks ill fitting, consider a neutral leather with amazing cushions. Lighting is always an issue, and your accent lighting needs to enhance the rooms best side. Lighting these days doesn't need to be expensive to add beautiful statements to a room, look out for filament bulbs, they are amazing, and very cost effective!.

What colour walls to go with red blinds in living room

Make the blinds disappear by painting the window wall the same red. Otherwise they will look a bit 'bitty'. You can also pick up the red with assessories and introduce other colours also with artwork. I think lots of cream or natural linen. IKEA do a lovely striped sofa which has a thin red stripes which would give it a French country feel. Sorry I don't like the brown leather sofa and after reading how leather is mass produced I am now having problems with any leather sofas :(

I would definitely not use curtains, they will shrink the room! If you want to add a soft touch and texture you could use Roman Blinds p, which fold so you can keep them up like a pelmet. I would either use white linen, or something neutral like this one called Postcard Natural from Web Blinds. http://www.web-blinds.com/postcard-natural-roman-blind/ For the kitchen I would use a faux wood, wide slotted blind, which is moisture resistant, can be pulled right up or be tilted to provide just the right amount of privacy or shade. From the picture it seems that the room is quite dark. Where are the large windows facing - North, South .... ??

It seems to me that the white wooden blinds would look very beautiful and the room is painted in a light warm tone - the color of limestone. F&B LIME WHITE 1. Furniture and other finishes, respectively, may be light and slightly black in detail.

For the window you could opt for Roman blinds then to add warmth just dress curtains on the outside of the window to help soften the sharp lines.
