Sorry I cannot contribute re the style of the doors. Only wanted to encourage you to consider black doors. While I liked black doors I saw on Houzz, I was not sure how they would have looked in reality. My husband was really sceptical which did not help either. However I made the leap and never looked back! But I painted black only two doors with glass inserts in the sitting room. The rest of the rooms have white doors, but only because our house in not particularly flooded with light.

Hi Suzie, could you perhaps do something a bit out of the box and choose something that is a splash of colour? Like a found object? Chinese ceramic stools? you can also go to vintage fairs etc. Or some companies source and stock interesting pieces. This is one : http://www.retrouvius.com/stock/storage I think more grey would be dull, more black would indeed make the room feel too small. I quite like the idea of timber for your chest of drawers etc. Difficult to visualise the space thought! Colour choice is pretty personal. I am partial to blues and purples.. but that is just me! Hello! It’s arrived but is being fitted Monday :0) The colour wasn’t quite what I wanted as although it’s not supposed to have any blue in it, if can look blue in some lights. I don’t mind it looking deep navy but sometimes it looks lighter. Will see when it’s all up though as with the worktop on the island and overhang, it will probably just look more black! Bear in mind the company didn’t use actually F&B paints as they mix their own. Definately advises paying for a test door first as they got the colour totally wrong at first (was bright blue!) and it was hard work getting the manufacturers to check it and do it again. They almost didn’t.

Sounds right and for comparison; 2020 Supply and fit - Handmade Accoya door, frames, glazing, painted, ironmongery (removal of old door) £5k. That was a period repro door in London to match original. Also, 2017 Supply only - 2x Engineered Hardwood doors, frames, glazing, ironmongery £5k. Contemporary door for new build. Fitting was extra but part of the build out costs. Hope this helps.
