Breakfast cabinets, bifold kitchen cabinet doors and pantry units

HI.. I really want to incorporate some units that contain worktop for unsightly appliances such as breadmaker, juicer etc. I was thinking behind counter lever bifold doors

Can anyone suggest some kitchen cabinet manufacturers that would do such things? Or am I looking at a bespoke kitchen?

Also I wanted to include a pantry within my house redevelopment but space has not allowed for this and so I would like some really clever pantry units within the kitchen.

I've been searching all day for kitchen brands but feel like I'm getting nowhere. Can anyone suggest?

I'm trying to keep the budget to under £20k

I love a pantry. They are becomming so popular. They hold a wealth of items. The easiest way to have this storage is to have a couple of larder units side by side with one hinged on the left and the other on the right. Position the shelves according to the height of the gadget

you need to store. These would then be standard sizes so no need to upgrade to a bespoke kitchen.

Try and allow a minimum of 500mm wide for each one, preferably 600mm as much smaller than that doesn’t provide a lot of individual space.

Here can just about see a double larder on the right hand side of this photo. I took this photo yesterday at a kitchen event held for traders which I attended.

Hi new house It looks like you are doing a really nice project and definitely as OnePlan has suggested you really need to see a professional kitchen designer. To be honest it looks like you have left it rather late! As a professional kitchen designer I suggest you go and visit 2 or 3 independent kitchen specialists, have a chat with them, see if this is the sort of project they often do. Now this is the important bit - be honest with them, tell them you want the space designed properly then get the design costed by 2 or 3 other suppliers. If they are sensible then they will suggest you pay a reasonable fee to cover their time and advice, and you get a design that's right for you and can get like for like costings - well as much as you can. You will also save a lot of time and repeating processes. In fact I had a customer in last week, they are building a beautiful German timber frame home, very modern, and they said money is tight for the internals so want to get several costings for the kitchen and other rooms. I suggested we design the space for them for a reasonable fee, they get all the alternative costs they want and then hopefully they will come back to us in the end so they will get their design fee back on the order. They emailed me yesterday and are coming in this afternoon with their house plans to discuss their requirements! New house where abouts are you in the UK? Hi All, I am hoping someone can help me!!!!!!! I recently painted my kitchen units in F&b Cornforth White. I am looking for a colour to compliment on the walls. I don't have a main wall as such i'm painting as going to feature brick effect paper...I have 2 large double sliding doors that open into the sitting room. I have testers of Worsted, but thinking it could be very dark. (the splashback will be coming down) i'm undecided on to go dark or light - plus painter coming tomorrow!!!! I'm in Northern Ireland and used Dee Light Furniture Facelifts NI. He has a Facebook page with lots of photos of his work showing lots of colours so its worth a look there. His standard of work is excellent and came highly recommended by word of mouth. He also builds this tear drop caravans to order! I think it was worth paying someone as he made our existing doors and drawers look brand new filling the holes from the old handles. We could never have done that to his standard

Look at an indepenent. They have the knowledge to plan to your wishes. The big sheds are just interested in sales and DIY kitchens although offer good prices do not offer a design service. You can use their online planner, but it’s the experience of a long established retailer that will provide the help you are looking for.

Thank you both for your helpful input. I have used DIY kitchens in my previous house and I thought the quality was great. It was a fairly basic set up I wanted and so I was able to design it. The trouble came to installing it as the various contractors didnt marry up very well.

Anyway, they didnt have the sort of larder options I want for this one.

At the moment I'm think of counter top with two sets of bifolding doors.. And shallower wall cupboards within for food storage..

You're really looking at either a hi end kitchen company who supply a more traditional style kitchen ie inframe, or as @Daisy England says, go to an independent, but as you're planning on having this sitting on your worktop, depending on the design of the rest of the kitchen ie if you have towers, the counter level bi fold doors would be to a special size (as most tall doors are designed for tower use).

The easiest way to do this would be to have an extra wide larder (800 or 900), fit an internal drawer unit at the bottom, then a piece of worktop, have power points inside and 2 or 3 shelves above. Depending on where the doors come from it may 2x 1965 doors or 2x 1245 doors at the top and 2x 715 doors at the bottom, all standard stuff.

Bearing in mind the appliances your trying to hide would be too big to fit inside a 'standard' 300 deep dresser type unit, the counter top option might not be the most suitable.

But for a budget of 20K, i could design and supply a larger than average kitchen that has some bespoke made to measure doors and specially designed rigid cabinets and all to a high spec.

Thank you for the comment. The area im thinking of is 2000mm wide counter top. So I was thinking 2 sets of bifold doors. I thought to try and spend as little as possible as our budget is being blown already. I thought I could get standard units for the most part but have these bifold made on a bespoke basis. I was envisaging fluted glass and steel frame. I wanted units floor to ceiling so the shallow sheving would sit underneath high units and the doors could also hang from the high units.

If the doors are 'hanging' from top box units then i think you're going to be limited to the depth of the top boxes which unless made as specials, will be 300mm, would your appliances fit even if there isn't a back panel, upstand etc. If the idea of the unit is to hide 'unsightly appliances' then having glass doors (even fluted) a bit of a contradiction as this would then be a display feature when you walk in the kitchen?
