Period shaker internal door sourcing

Hi -
Can anyone point me in the right direction to find period glass panelled internal doors like these? (We need 3)

Also looking for similar style internal doors (for bedrooms/bathrooms - 8) with full oak panels (4-6) so no glass.

Builders have only suggested Howdens but I don’t think I’m going to find what I want there.

It’s a 6 light door and I’m sure they are in the LPD door website It’s trade only but if you find it and ring them they will let you know the nearest retailer.

The only issue with ledged and brace with traditional fittings is the draftproof element. They do tend to curl way from the stops in my experience. If you have the money id go for a framed ledge and brace or any other style you fancy made bespoke for you to suit your sizes. If sound / draft proofing is an issue you can put a seal in the door stop that the door shuts tight against cutting out all draft and noise.

Try http://www.handmadekitchens-direct.co.uk - our kitchen was installed when we bought the house but I know from some paperwork left by the previous owners that this is where it came from. From what I can gather the previous owner painted the kitchen herself too to save some money. It's a very good quality kitchen that has stood the test of time and 3 children! Sorry I haven't read the comments (too many) but if you are considering keeping them, I'd send them off and get them dipped. If they come back in one piece then go from there. It may be they come back with a lot of damage, some panels may need to come out - but you can always update with fluted glass panels etc. If they come back and were full of filler etc and bad condition then sand, fill, sand again and paint a dark shade. You can make them look beautiful if you want to. It may be they come back in good condition! In which case you can stain and keep natural. I'd probably replace all the hardware though.

I had a 60's bungalow with these windows and needed to remove one when combining a bathroom and loo. In my opinion simply boarding over the frame would look a mess. To do the job properly I had to carefully remove the old brittle glass. Cut back the frame and create a rebate. Insert an additional stud, board over and skim with plaster. It's quite a fiddle but the materials are cheap if you have the tools and time. I employed a plasterer for skimming. I would strongly advise leaving things as they are, changing the glass if you prefer and spending your money elsewhere. If your other half can't live with the transom windows, and looking at your photos I would remove glass and frames, insert additional studs, board and skim. You could then extend the cornice right round the room but you might have to move the loft hatch over too. If you are considering altering your stairs your balustrade doesn't look like it would pass current building regulations. For child safety you must not be able to pass a tennis ball through any of the gaps. You don't have to change it but most professionals would want any upgrade to meet current regulations. Failing that also look on the J B Kind website. Again trade only but they will advise who you can deal with. We deal with both and are in Staffordshire if that’s any good.
