Hi helliot64 - thanks for your question. The window itself is a Velfac 200 series fixed unit. The projecting frame is a simple timber stud frame (with insulation) and this is clad with VM Quartz pre-patinated Zinc. We hope this helps, ARCHEA.

Yes we are definitely keeping the window/access to the bedroom in according to the code. Thanks 'One Plan' we hadn't thought about keeping the door by the bedroom and just run it allow the whole of the side. The double doors would be a great way to keep light into the lounge especially as it is south facing as well. What do you think to bi-folding doors in the lounge or just large bay window? We want to keep it fairly Victorian with some more timely features, so leaning away from bi-folding doors but think it's such a fantastic way to open up the garden space?

Hiya, Firstly, to answer your question, uPVC window frames definitely don't rule out shutters. Lots of our customers mix the two and they really do create a stunning effect. If you're worried about light though and do decide on shutters, be sure to choose wider louvres to avoid making your space dark. Alternatively, you talk about wanting to bring in a cosy feel. Roman blinds are really good at this, or even any type of layered blinds with curtains. It can seem tricky to balance cosiness with privacy and light control without making things too dark, so why not try Wooden blinds layered with curtains? Hi Jonathan, thanks so much for your reply. We will be removing some of the hedge at the front to allow for the new porch. The larger garden gets the sun rise and all day (south-east facing). There is no option to park in front of the existing front door. We have a pretty good view from our living room and smaller garden (South-West facing) and we see the sunset from our living room. The plan is to cut back the overgrowth from the field rear of us to open the view up in the larger garden too. I've attached some more photo's to hopefully show a bit more. The current front door is below the dormer window. Have you any thoughts on the internal layout changes? Thanks again, Claire and Danny.

Lose the WC under the stairs and put washer/dryer in there instead? You'd need to give dimensions of the bathroom to get someone to figure out that - also what size of bath do you think you need? Could you turn bath 90 degrees so it's between toilet and wall that backs onto garage, then have the washbasin between the side of the bath and the washer/dryer cupboard?

Thanks helliott64. We like this detail as it's simple to build with less reliance on bespoke glazing which can add cost but also complicate programming of the work - very easy to order 1 bespoke window and build a simple timber frame to suit those dimensions.
