Covering lights fittings passing through the attic, with a plastic buc

Season Greetings to everyone
Would be grateful for advice on the bathroom lights, which pass through the loft. I wish to cover these with insulation but am not sure how to go about it.
One idea was to use these plastic buckets. Saw them sideways to get the wire through. The electric wire can then exit through a central hole made at the bottom. The sawn edges I would be able to bring them together using gorilla tape. The bottom of the overturned plastic bucket, to be glued onto the wood?
On top of this, I would put the insulation. Does this sound safe and doable? Probably cover the lights only and leave the extractor fan alone, anyway it doesn't work despite it being a new one!!
