I guess the photo isn't great in terms of giving ideas on dimensions as you can see the tv perfectly from the sofa (it's on a swivel). We have the decor sorted too with regards to art and mirrors, like I said, we only just finished fitting it so not everything is up yet....give us a chance! :) We have now got some pendant lights that look perfect so thanks for all comments but help is no longer needed xx

Hi Moggles i have a similar renovation starting and have the same thoughts re pendant lighting from steel. Are you actually allowed to have anything coming from the steel itself or won't this negate the fire proofing measures put in place ? So if you are allowed to hang directly from under the steel the next concern is the head height as looking at your photos it does look limited. I have actually bought 2 pendant fittings so i can decide when the time is right which is going to look best. One is a standard pendant with 3 lights dropping from it ... quite ordinary. The other is a long thin led bar that i thought could be hung with as much or little drop from the ceiling as required. It's quite similar to this but i think slimmer (it doesn't seem to be available now :/ ) http://www.litecraft.co.uk/quartz-rectangular-led-ceiling-pendant-chrome In fact it's really similar to the one shown by Modus above ! The Pooky website had loads of lovely lights. Wow! I also received some suggestions on another thread. I trawled through lots of websites today! I combined some ideas into a collage. Any thoughts? The dark pewter pendant is what I'm trying to co-ordinate with (I love the matt grey finish and its shape), whilst not losing the light airy feeling of the new living area with it's pitched roof, and large windows/doors. Hence why I thought about a glass pendant. But using glass pendants was just an idea. I'm open to other ideas. I also wondered if I should look at some "Hamptons style lights"? I like a timeless, calm, look.
