telephone socket - bedroom

I have a telephone socket which we don’t need in our bedroom. Was going to just rip it out but there is another cable joining to it which goes outside.
Anyone know what these are? Can I just rip the socket out?

I’m not an expert, but to me it looks as though an extension has been run to the bedroom from outside. I’m guessing the internal cable goes to another telephone point. You just need to make sure it’s not the primary socket (unlikely as it’s upstairs) then you can remove the socket. I’d take the external cable back to the source outside.

Most likely it will be redundant soon as phone companies move over to VOIP calling in which case phone points across the house will not be needed. So you could just hang on for that

Hi, in that space I would put a nice relaxing framed print and beneath it a shaker style shelf with pegs to hang pretty scarves or hats or bags. I have one in my utility room between two cupboards and it gives a lovely feel to the room as well as being useful. Mirrors are not good feng shui opposite a bed and although shoe storage is great it might be too much between the wardrobes. Pretty colours!

Hello matthuire, A nice looking place from the photos... I would say you could have shutters or blinds with tapes that can look like shutters if the thickness is 3cm or wider up to 5cm. Because you don't have a gr8 deal going on with frames and so forth, with those sash windows you can make the blinds work.. You could have a top recess fitting for wooden venetian blind with tapes by the looks of it. This would be my suggestion for something that looks like shutters but less expensive if budget is a consideration.... The windows lend themselves to the "header" (it's the boxy part that the wooden slats go into and is fixed to the top of window, in your case the top reveal?... Or you could have a gauzy sheer roman blinds and some lovely curtains.. : ))

The ŵall looks great, I prefer it to your original choice! The chest of drawers look great pushed together. I wouldn't try going for a symmetrical layout. Hang the mirror where it is portrait with a lamp that's in between the sizes of the 2 shown (maybe a charcoal shade?) with a shorter vase of flowers etc on the rhs and some kind of decorative object in the middle ( a decorative horse's head might look good?!)

It looks great, I'm glad you and your daughter are so pleased and she has lots of room for friends over, playing etc. It can also be easily and cheaply adapted as she grows if she wants. My only criticism (if you can call it that) is that if not already your daughter may soon also want the desk to double up as a dressing table and therefore I think a mirror was a good idea but the memo board (which looks great) can always be moved as and when needed. (I thought i'd posted a comment on that previously but obviously not!). I might also add a desk light there for working during winter months. So which room next?!

Thank you. We don’t have a landline phone so don’t use the telephone sockets anyway.
Our internet provider said if we want a landline we just plug into our router if needed.
