We have been playing around with this today and this is the layout we think we will go with. Due to solid floors and walls if we move the loo we need significant boxing in. My app has limited selections of items but we will have sanitary ware in these locations, we think!

Thanks for the mentions peeps ! Just popped in while I'm stopping work for a quick coffee ! Re seamless worksurface - lots of composites do very well concealed joints ! But you can also use changes in height or adding a chopping block or marble pastry rolling area into long runs to hide the fact you needed to make a join . [ marketing note : The price for a design,that's unique to you and your family, that's done over the course of a working week, keeping the client in the loop along the way and ending up with a comprehensive set of drawings, like the ones on my pro page, a PDF with those drawings in and an item listing - enabling you to shop around and haggle for the best price is between £450 and £675 for a kitchen - and all of my clients have saved so much more by shopping around that they have recouped (and more ) that initial outlay ... ... But other design options are also available if people want to spend less ! ]

Beyond your desired look and feel, you need to have a list of appliances that need to be included in the layout. Most technical kitchen design is about how to fit all the appliances in. Cabinets tend to fit into place around them. I've noticed also that you want folding sliding doors (FSDs). They are very fashionable at the moment but come with certain issues you should be aware of. Firstly, they come with a lot of moving parts. Over time, new walls and door openings tend to settle and can cause issues with the ease of opening. When open, FSD panels take a up a surprising amount of space. You need to include that space in your plan. Of course, they can open to the outside but that could impede the flow of people outside. Consider large sliding doors or stacking sliding doors instead. If you're set of FSDs try to go with standard sizes as they tend to be less expensive than custom sizes. That applies to any doors/windows.

Just to flag to you - the so-called "lifetime guarantee" offered by Bathstore (and similar guarantees offered by other "sheds") is not a true lifetime guarantee - the actual length of guarantee ranges very widely on different products, so while ceramic Sanitaryware is 30 years, furniture is only 2-5 years and taps only 10 years. Furthermore, virtually all products have various exclusions - with taps, for example, the cartridges (the part most likely to fail and cause leaks) are only guaranteed for 1 year - considerably less than the average or better products in the market. Cisterns in WCs (again the most likely component to fail) are only covered for 2 years. Full details can be found here, if you want more info. Unfortunately, this sort of misleading marketing is more common than I would like, particularly among the larger chains. Feedback from customers to us has also indicated that getting some of these larger companies to honour their guarantees can also be a difficult business at times. Dealing with a smaller independent, they are more likely to deal with companies they know will have fewer quality issues and, where necessary, will honour their commitments (we can't afford the time, effort or risk to our reputation to do otherwise) and will normally "go the extra mile" to keep customers happy. There is, of course, a place for all of us in the market, but I really do urge you to do your homework and know what you are really buying if you deal with the national companies.
