Declutter and storage of paintings and photo frames

My living room has several artefacts especially collections of large painting and photo frames which my husband keeps behind the door. I need advice on where to store them. I cannot keep them in the shed. Have enclosed some pictures below. Thank you for your advice in advance .

An obvious question is why can’t some of the artwork be hung on the walls?

thanks Betty ,that is the issue as my partner is a creative person and insits on changing all the artwork every few weeks and because of this we have this clutter and no space to keep them and I dislike how it makes the living room look. We have several things on the floor.

We have used two tall chest of drawers by attaching them together to create one large chest and using it to separate our bedroom from the living room. It is at the foot of our bed. It looks lovely in our flat!

Hi Jen, I would leave headboard as it is without painting, I'm not sure about the round thing in the middle...the best would be a simple natural wood one with plain surface... Anyway if you decide to paint it sand it first with sandpaper and make all corners round, it will give a special personal touch. :) Make sure that it is well fixed to the bed.

The dining area and the other area could be from two different houses. There’s definitely nothing modern about the dining area. Build in storage (cupboard on the bottom, shelves to the height of the picture rail) on each side of the fireplace. Change the chairs to a much simpler style. The cottage/country table cloth should be changed out for something less busy. If building storage isn’t possible, reduce what’s on the shelves and clear off the mantel.

Hi Clare, We'd recommend going for https://www.farrow-ball.com/paint-colours/calke-green the traditional sage green colour, which would compliment the terra-cotta floor tiles and pick up the pinks in the flower tiles. All exposed walls would be painted in Calke Green. I'd recommend painting the ceiling white but leaving the exposed wooden beams as they are. To accessorise the space I'd put a nice mirror with a gold frame behind the sink. http://www.coachhouse.com/p-46928-fah012.aspx and maybe if the space allows get a set of side tables, again in gold finish to put candles/ reed diffusers and any other accessories on. http://www.coachhouse.com/p-46930-fba048.aspx Lastly I'd make sure to get an artifical plant in there, ideally we'd recommend white planter to pick up the white finish on the ceiling and a large leaf plant. How about boxing them up and putting them in the loft if you have one?

If he wants to keep them to hand but accessible you could maybe have a plan chest which is a large chest of drawers with lots of shallow drawers to keep art in that way they would be out of sight but still accessible
