Narrow bathroom design

Hello

I have a narrow bathroom in old tenement building and would like some ideas on renovations. Ideally I'd like to take the bath out and put shower at the end at the window, but I have been told that it is very difficult and costly to move the toilet. My contractor's solution is to put a free standing offset quadrant shower enclosure 20cm away from the window (for cleaning access purposes) . First time I've done anything like this so would value any other ideas for layout. The bathroom dimension is 1.5m x 2.4m and ceiling 2.6m high.

Do you definitely want a shower? The current layout squeezes everything in quite efficiently. I think you could replace your bath with a glass cubicled shower. I would try not to move the toilet as it appears to be close to the soil stack. You could have a freestanding bath further in from the window with a shower over. There are issues around how to contain the shower spray though. It's very tricky. You could just try updating the fixtures and fittings including the toilet, it would make a big difference and is less expensive than changing the layout. Just a thought.

I think it can work, I removed my bath and added a quadrant shower simply because I was struggling to get in and out of the bath due to osteoarthritis. It really was the best solution for me. I moved the sink but kept the loo where it was. Perfect solution for us.

I love the idea of the shower across the window, but as we have young children, I really want to keep the bath. If we drop anything, I suppose it needs to be the separate shower as we can compromise with a shower/bath. Strangely, all our neighbours have full size baths and separate showers in the same room, but I can only imagine that either their rooms are slightly bigger than ours, or they are putting up with squeezing between items. Having browsed a few too many design pages, I’m really taken with the bath being inside the shower enclosure - something like the screenshot below
