I like your installation of the canvas panels ABOVE the structure which eliminates the unsightly hanging canvas on the underside.

Can you tell me how these shades retract? Is it a manual operation or motorized? Thanks.

I think the Moroccan shades are beautiful. So lovely to have an authentic find that will have personal memories for you on display. I think the wicker shade is a little dull compared to your other light choices, would you consider painting it? A lovely Moroccan shade of blue or green perhaps? Here is a link to a wicker artist who gives advice on spray painting furniture - http://www.wickerwoman.com/articles/painting-wicker Not sure if the same rules apply for paint to a surface close to a light source but a paint specialist would know. Finally I wondered if you would consider a Moroccan style centre light - with all the angles in your ceiling a central pendant may throw some interesting patterns. I'd tone down the door or brighten up the artwork. Both are lovely but it's as though they are separate rooms with the red door picking up the stained glass. A calmer shade of pink, blue or duck egg or similar would tone with the artwork better.

Patio shading on single storey extension and bifolds

Ha I could have written this post myself! We also have a single storey extension with integral blinds in our 4m bifold doors...our garden is west facing meaning sun all afternoon/evening. We looked at cantilever parasols last weekend but I am just not sure...it would be upwards of £1k. Our air con is being hooked up next week so at least we will be cool when the bifolds are closed but that doesn’t solve the issue of wanting to enjoy the doors open when we want. I also looked at awnings but we have downlighters in our soffits which we wouldn’t be able to use. Decisions decision....

Hi tani :-) the system will works with any tile as long as it has a rectified edge and is 20mm thick for strength! Tbh they are an added extra but the thought of being able to lift and lay them where ever I liked really appealed to me, plus the extra for the system I can save in labour and do it myself! Pretty easy if your anyway good with your hands and have a good diamond cutting blade.
