How can I hide my router / wires in the hallway?

Or at least tidy them up so it’s not all on the floor?

The sockets span about 55cm long.

The easiest most cost effective way would be to disguise it with a narrow console. You router cable looks very short which is a shame as you could have lifted it up and placed it on a shelf otherwise. You might still be able to hang a small shelf quite low to contain it all. At least the sockets and connection boxes would not be visible looking from above.

I have a sideboard in front of mine with the router behind a photo, so I would agree a solid console table will hide the wires. This is my sideboard with all the gubbins behind it.

We have the same type of panelling in our hall and it was oak the same as yours with an oak floor. It just started to feel quite dark and drab but we hesitated to to do anything for fear of messing it up. In the end we painted all the panelling in Farrows French grey, left the doors and floors wood and painted the sides of our staircase and the spindles in Farrows clunch but left the newel posts and the bannister rail as wood - looks like a different hallway - I have never regretted painting it

Thank you to everyone for your suggestions, from not knowing where to start I've got lots of good ideas ... and would still welcome more. Just so you know the canvas above the glass table in the hallway is actually wired with LED to light up - it's an Arabic scripture reading "God bless this house and those who enter" which was an important feature for us to have ... so I'm afraid it's staying lol! I love the idea of black and white prints going up the staircase ... but it's all starting to look a bit too grey toned in the hallway and would like to inject some colour but at the same time it needs to complement the flash of turquoise in our canvas without clashing .... herein lies the problem for me whereas someone else I'm sure can effortless throw complimenting and colourful accessories in! I tried putting a plant on the glass table and it looked a bit odd to me ... maybe an orchid in a colour that will go with the turquoise ... which will then also have to complement the artwork on the stairs ....!! Dilemmas!!! lol

You're right about not having a piece of furniture on both sides as that will feel much too tight. I can see a socket next to the radiator, can the telephone be connected to that and moved on top and then you've just got to sort the hub. I think it's about trying to move it away from there rather than make a shelf or something. Can you put the connector on the other side of the wall? Is there a second internet socket in the house that can be used instead Can you run the cable (with long cable) around to the radiator/ under the rug. Otherwise I think a small shelf perhaps reasonably high might be the best thing to try and not make it the feature of the hallway!
