Because of the irregular shaped room I would avoid large or patterned wall tiles which will show cuts more around corners. I would choose a metro tile and paint the walls a warm but neutral colour. I do agree that pattern would be good- perhaps you could add a blind? In my opinion the layout looks good with the exception of the cabinet over the sink which looks disjointed

I think you can go down either route to inject aqua into the room, either through walls or splashback but I think it'd look much better to have white tiles and aqua on the walls with the wood effect worktop as suggested by Minnie101. Good Luck xx

Hi, kitchen looks great btw. I also wouldn't paint the walls and add colour in the way of a roller or roman blind. And perhaps a few accessories. Now this sound like a mad idea but I've noticed you haven't put in the kick board yet and was thinking this could be a bold colour, something that picks out a colour from the blind. I've shown orange in the pics (taking inspiration from the bowl) but it could be any colour. Easy to do, just get some acrylic Perspex cut to size and pop on the front of the standard white kick board. Think it will really frame the kitchen and make it stand out. Alternatively you could use LED light strips for a similar effect.

Ooh, please move the toaster before you set fire to the cupboard over it. Putting a toaster under a cabinet is actually dangerous. Constantly heating the cupboard will dry the carcass out until it can actually ignite eventually. To pull the top and bottom cabinets together with the flooring and tiles i'd change all the kitchen equipment and cannisters etc to a bronze colour. Making them all the same theme colourwise will make it look more polished and elegant. As the kitchen area is a little dark, take away everything from the window sill to maximize the light. Don't put up a blind as that will hinder further. I can't quite make out some of your dimensions needed, so this is a rough guess. Maybe something like this could work. You are hindered by the fact that your doors open inwards and I'd highly suggest changing that.
