Kitchen Pantry depth issue.
Comments (11)Your renovation looks like it is going very well, don't get discouraged. I think before you change the pantry cupboard, it would be worthwhile you and your partner mocking up the eating area and the kitchen island unit to get an idea of where you're going. Re the island, I think an island unit which runs to the end of the pantry cupboard will add more weight and bulk to the space and anchor the pantry. It could be a working bench at the far end and an eat-on area at the closer end. This will give you space to 'land' items you are pulling out of the pantry If you mocked this up with some boxes and sheets, and then also added some large "pictures" taped to the walls, left and right of the pantry, I think it would give you a much better idea of the finished space. Re the art size, possibly pieces that relate to the pantry cupboard height on the left side of it and two pieces either side of the range hood that relate to the lower level upper cabinets at the far end ....See MoreWhich wall should be the feature, any help appreciate.
Comments (29)Hi you two, you've been so very helpful. I've ordered a few GP & J samples so I can't wait to get them! You've been great with advise so much so I recommended Houzz on Facebook, not your names specifically incase you didn't want that but you've certainly helped me. Don't think I'll go for an aqua wallpaper I think it might be a bit much as I'd like to paper all the walls up to pic rail, then paint above, but I love the herons - unusual, modern yet in keeping. Sometimes I wish we didn't have a period property as there is a lot of work to do. We moved in in March and it's an uphill struggle but I know it will be worth it in the end! I'm currently covered in wallpaper & paint specks....See MoreHeight of bath issues
Comments (12)Hi miracath88, I'm not quite there yet age wise, but I do suffer with Osteoarthritis which has left me with two replacement knees and spinal fusion at L5/S1. I found it impossible to get in and out of normal bathtubs because of this. Getting out was the most difficult as baths tend to be higher inside, resulting in you tipping forward as you step out. We solved this problem with an Omni Tub in the double size. It's a plunge/soaker tub in what I would call a Japanese style. It's a metre square and 900mm deep and when you put water in it, the level rises around you very quickly. Just over half full brings it up to your shoulders.....lovely to soak in. Ok, you can't quite lay out flat, but who does! Sitting counter to corner and letting your knees bend up, allows you to get everything under except your head. Without a doubt the best bathtub I have ever used. Not overly expensive either, compared to ordinary baths. Much cheaper than luxury tubs. If you are in the UK, Google it and have a look. Cannot recommend it highly enough, we even managed to get me and my OH in there beside each other. Didn't need much water to get a real soak.....but it seemed almost empty when we got out,lol Hope this gives you an idea of what it's like. Good luck with your project....See MoreDamp issues from outside wall and yellow insulation in cavity?
Comments (12)Hi we are in Swansea South Wales? I haven’t had chance to ask as this is only a recent thing we’ve noticed. It only seem to be on this side of the house at the moment where the rain has been hitting this side of the house? We left it for a few weeks to be honest because we didn’t move in for a while but has been gone for over a year now? The rain has been bad though. The builder pulled some out for another section of the wall where we had the same issue, he said the rock wool was soaking wet. Yes we always get drainage issues around the gate and front and side of the house. There is hole in the mortar I’ve tried to patch most of them up but there’s quite a few I need to fill. That wall where the damp is has been filled so there aren’t many left that side? Hi jonathan, it’s a brick house, I the water is from where the rain has been hitting great side of the house, soaking through and into the mode section cavity where the insulation is and soaking through to the internal wall? There no other sources of water only on the floor where the drainage isn’t the best?...See More- 2 months ago
