Please help with tips and ideas to create some character to my living room!?
Comments (10)HI -- I like the red wall but I think the whole room in that would be too much. So right now you need to cut down the contrast of the red wall . Paint a light cream tan on the other walls and also on the ceiling but leave the crown the same color. This will tone down the red and accent the crown molding. You could also use a blueish grey in the same way. Or you could also use a grey with a hint of lavender . Get some color sample cards or pots (benjamin moore paints). Get an idea of the color before you paint the whole area....See MoreBedroom: How to give a wow factor without disturbing the calm
Comments (14)What a lovely room. It just needs a few finishing touches to give it a lift. From your photos, the oak floor looks slightly orange in tone as do your storage units. Orange will only serve to accentuate this and bring little to the scheme. Blue is a contrast to orange, so you may want to consider this. Try laying some colourful clothes on your bed, one at a time to see how it works in the room. To retain a restful feeling, you need a blue that coordinates with the quilt, which looks slightly beige. This photo will give you the idea. Purple is another colour to try, but it has more visual impact. Remember, a little colour will go a long way in your room....See MoreNeed help with kitchen and extension layout
Comments (20)Thanks for the mentions peeps ! Just popped in while I'm stopping work for a quick coffee ! Re seamless worksurface - lots of composites do very well concealed joints ! But you can also use changes in height or adding a chopping block or marble pastry rolling area into long runs to hide the fact you needed to make a join . [ marketing note : The price for a design, that's unique to you and your family, that's done over the course of a working week, keeping the client in the loop along the way and ending up with a comprehensive set of drawings, like the ones on my pro page, a PDF with those drawings in and an item listing - enabling you to shop around and haggle for the best price is between £450 and £675 for a kitchen - and all of my clients have saved so much more by shopping around that they have recouped (and more ) that initial outlay ... ... But other design options are also available if people want to spend less ! ]...See MoreNeed help creating an ensuite bathroom with a wow factor
Comments (10)hi there desain. I assume the plan you've posted is what you currently have? how about something like this (pic below) I've used a pocket door as the main door, which would go towards the toilet area, and a sliding door in the toilet area. Basically, I've put the toilet and bidet separately on the right, basins on the left, freestanding bath beneath the window and the walk in shower beyond the toilets The basins are drawn to be 0.6m wide. The length of the unit is 1.7m, width is 0.7m. The space between the wall (wall with main door) and unit is 0.5m. You could put a mirror there. The distance between the sink unit and separate toilet area is 0.8m Toilet area is 1.8m × 1.6m. There is 0.7m between the front of the toilet and the wall The shower is 1.8m × 1.2m, with a 0.4m shower seat along the length. The entrance to the shower is 0.7m There is a distance of 0.6m between the bathtub and basins. The bathtub is 1.7m × 0.8m...See Moredeborahjanebily
