9AR Kitchen extension & Internal Remodelling
The clients approached OPS to deliver the single storey rear extension and internal remodelling, having had plans prepared by an architect. OPS project managed the works whilst also designing recessed lighting and specifying bespoke carpentry items. Colour changing LED strips sit within recesses beneath the two roof lights to the extension, which operate on veracious programmes; one of which changes the colours to music! This idea was first considered when it was discovered the roof light supplier offered integrated LEDs, but soon discounted on learning the cost of the roof lights increased 3-fold. Simon was adamant a similar set-up could be achieved and produced a mock up of the profile for the builders to ensure the LED tape was as discrete ad possible. A bespoke unit has been designed to house the boiler, audio visual equipment, woodstore, but most importantly a discreet cat flap for the 2 feline clients. Additionally, floating shelves have been fitted within the kitchen, storage cupboards beneath the stairs, and bookshelves to the snug (although these have been designed to accomodate vinyl records and wine bottles in place of books).
