Belgravia | Bespoke Interior Alchemy

Situated in a stunning newly built mansion just outside London, our clients were looking for an entertaining kitchen with real wow factor that had top of the range appliances, an ergonimc layout and striking aesthetics. In-keeping with the quest for creating real wow factor is the core of this Belgravia inspired kitchen; the floating bowed island.

Designed to have real wow-factor, our clients positioned a television behind the range cooker. Protected by a glass splashback the screen subtly blends into the background when switched off, becoming easily visible from the entire room when in use.

The curved island is the core of this kitchen with the ceiling box above designed to echo the island's bowed shape. The chandeliers at each end of the island provide additional glamour and luxe in the room.

The bowed shape of the island can be properly appreciated from this angle. With round cabinetry at either end, the main body of the kitchen island continues the curved aesthetic. The book-matched burr walnut detailing really adds to the luxurious, opulent feel of the space.

A crucial part of this brief was to design and manufacture a bespoke 'floating' kitchen island. The round cabinets at both ends of the island support the middle section entirely, negating the need for structural support for the core.

Looking over the bowed island, beyond the breakfast bar and towards the table and soft seating at the opposite end of the room, the scale of the property can be understood. It was important that the grandeur and luxuriousness of the kitchen was in-keeping with the rest of the house.

As well as the sweeping curve on the island, the cabinetry which lines the room also features a soft curve. This helps to soften the impact of the cabinetry, with so much kitchen furniture in one space.
