Inspired by the effortlessly chic style of Manhattan loft apartments, this kitchen was designed to be elegant and beautiful whilst still pared back and understated. The high ceilings and large sash windows create a light filled space that lends itself to a loft style.

The light grey cabinetry and pops of brass on the handles and tap perfectly compliment the darker tones in the parquet flooring.

Careful not to put style over substance, a selection of premium quality appliances, including this bank of Wolf ovens, ensures the kitchen is a practical cooking space. The cabinetry surrounding the ovens emphasises the property's high ceilings.

Rather than opt for an entirely open plan layout, a partial divide between the kitchen/diner and soft seating area was requested. To create this, the two Sub-Zero fridge/freezers were positioned in a wall of storage that subtly divides the two zones.

The statement breakfast bar echoes the darker tones on the parquet flooring with the addition of a statement calcatta marble panel on the island.

A variety of shelves and drawers are located within the tall storage cupboard between the two American fridge/freezers. When folded back the pocket doors reveal the contents which include cookbooks and small appliances, within easy reach of the island.

The ribbed glass on the wall cupboard adds an industrial edge to the design, in-keeping with the New York loft apartment style.

The brass catches, ribbed glass and soft grey hand painted cabinetry combine to create a chic and elegant scheme that's effortlessly cool - perfectly fitting for a brief centred around a relaxed loft style with English design accents.
