The room flows from kitchen into dining seamlessly. Gaby and Simon have 5 children between them, aged 13-26 so it was essential that their kitchen worked for the whole family, as well as when it's just the two of them. Open plan was the obvious choice, offering optimum flexibility.

The light colour used on the man cabinetry (Balboa Mist by Benjamin Moore) is a fantastic counter balance to the dark wood flooring and charcoal tone used on the island and internal doors.

With such a large family to feed there needs to be ample storage in this kitchen. This walnut larder cupboard features a spice rack on the back of the door, helping to keep everything to hand.

The kitchen island features a bank of drawers, including this deep drawer with peg board for crockery storage. Gaby knew from her previous Davonport kitchen the value of having enough storage, so it was at the core of this project.
