Modern family garden I designed and installed for clients in Knutsford, Cheshire. Clean lines, a restrained palette of neutrals and Mediterranean planting all worked to create a light and uplifting space to be used year round. The garden features a sunken seating area with a fire pit and a sawn sandstone patio with outdoor seating. We also upcycled their old paving into gabion baskets to create a seat and backdrop and used slatted trellis on its side to create support for climbers and screening. The planting was all white with plenty of blue green foliage and fragrant herbs such as Lavender, Sage and Thyme. Succulent Agaves, Yuccas and Euphorbias and spiny Eryngium Thistles all add to the Mediterranean feel of the garden. Surprisingly, we managed to build this lovely garden on a real shoestring.
