Reyes Landscape ConstructionOn this project we installed the paver driveway, paver steps, the stone wall with rustic grout, and natural stone cap, the walls have an antique and weathered look. We also installed the plants and the landscape lighting. Our design role was as a direct consultant to the owner.

Using a combination of smaller landscape rock, larger cobble, accent boulders, mulch, and a wide variety of hardy and rugged plants, we installed a low maintenance xeriscape that isn't boring.

Rusnak Gallant Ltd.This small residential garden was a complete transformation of an existing landscape. The original front, back and side yards were poorly performing lawns areas. The front garden was built up with large local blast rock to create a level area for the house to sit upon. A second set of steps - large rock slabs - were used to give better access to the front entrance that was crowded by parked cars. Lush plantings were chosen to provide curb appeal and seasonal interest. Front yard plants selected are 'deer proof'. The side and back yard of this landscape were fenced to provide privacy and allow for a wider range of plant material. The back garden design incorporated sections of an existing rock retaining wall into rockery features as well as a raised planting bed and feature pond. Paving in the back patio areas is a coloured stamped concrete. The side yard pavers are Pennsylvania Bluestone slabs. Photos by Josh Leslie

Mark S. Garff, Landscape ArchitectThis newly constructed home was in need of an outdoor living space and streetscape in a matching contemporary Northwest style. Our studio composed a landscape with an improved entry sequence, balancing the need for personal privacy alongside a distinctive public face. A steel framed gabion basket wall provides a crisp edge and doubles as retaining for the private patio behind the horizontal board fence. The courtyard oasis with a new deck is enclosed by warm wooden fencing set on top of the contrasting raw texture of a gabion retaining wall that acts as a backdrop to bold streetscape plantings.
