It's amazing how small gardens can look so great when well designed. We built this garden for Ana Sanchez owner of Germinate. Starting at the house with the Balau hardwood deck, this was fixed using an invisible fixing method, creating a comfortable extension to the home with sofas for lounging. The detail is in the design here, with matching grey fabric sofas to blend with the grey painted bespoke slatted trellis, unifying this space. A very inviting area to sit and relax with a glass of wine after a hard days work! Leading down to the small lawn area, height has been added with an old stock brick built wall, which we then fixed a diagonal lattice of stainless steel wire rope to train. Trachylospermum Jasminoides over. A buttress of mature ready grown clipped Taxus has been used to create a backdrop to the soft palate of planting. Purples and blues are used as an accent colour in this area, which compliments the greys on the upper deck area.

Karl put together a garden design that met all their wants and needs. Removing the massive storage unit gave back over half of the garden space. This left behind a concrete pad that made a perfect base to install the no maintenance Trex composite decking. Karl is a TrexPro making this Trex Deck warrantied for 25 years. Following the low maintenance theme, Karl chose to use Namgrass artificial lawn around the decking. This grass even has a 10mm foam layer underneath to make it really comfy underfoot.

Mut zur außergewöhnlichen Architektur und Farbgebung bei der Modernisierung des Hauses zeigten die Bauherren auch bei Gestaltung des Gartens. Ich plante einen Hain aus Felsenbirnen, den ich als Blickachse in die obligatorische Rasenfläche anlegte. Von der Terrasse aus blickt die junge Familie durch die schirmartigen Felsenbirnen auf das Heckentheater mit einer großzügigen naturnah gestalteten Staudenfläche. Das überwiegend im Sommer blühende Staudenbeet wurde durch die zwei vorhandenen Baumwurzeln ergänzt. Der üppige Lebensraum und das vielfältige Nahrungsangebot zieht zahlreiche Insekten an. Außergewöhnlich ist sicherlich der Einzug der sehr seltenen schwarzen Holzbiene, die in den Wurzeln nistet. Im Vorgarten pflanzten wir schmalkronige Wildbirnen und ebenfalls Insektenstauden.

You’re looking beautiful, Brooklyn! Our design for this rooftop garden in Park Slope included composite decking, wood fencing, a black and tan pergola, globe lights, and black fiberglass planters. Up-lights in the plants also make for a dramatic nighttime effect. This project was somewhat unusual for us because the client actually built most of the hardscaping himself, based on our design. Simple, modern plant combinations draw from a simple but consistent colour palette. The main courtyard space is the highlight . A five metre high green wall and water wall provide the backdrop to a large banquet seat. The built in bbq, retractable ceiling, customised firepit and coffee table provide options for year round entertainment. Extensive soundproofing was incorporated into the boundary wall as well as behind the green wall to absorb noise from a neighbouring property.
