The service was ok, but we won’t use Resi again because we felt in the end, the plans weren’t as creative as they could have been if the architect had been in our home. They also had to change once the structural engineer gave their assessment. All in all, it was an expensive service for what ended up being a much simpler project.

AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID - unless you enjoy confusion and poor advice and incompetence.
Would we use RESI in the future: NO

Our Journey with Resi has been long, protracted and our wishes and ideas ignored frequently throughout the whole tortuous process. A build that should have been 8 week project has now turned into a living nightmare due to poor plans
Their timekeeping and urgency with projects are slow, with responses from the company, in the end ,taking days to be replied to. Their communication is poor and does not provide clarity or in hindsight, comfort, to the customer. Their lack of clarity over responsibility creates confusion and subsequently errors are made.
They lack imagination of design and just want to complete the project quickly to get new customers in. There is little consideration to the wishes of the client, and any diversion from the ‘box’ is charged extra. They are slow and disinterested in ingenious space saving ideas, and create imaginary obstacles to confuse and take more time which ultimately leads to another invoice for no work from RESI.
They have a department dedicated to building control, yet the first design they released to the structural engineers and subsequently the builders failed Building Control. This design was based on their recommendation to - just get something into planning, but has subsequently cost us thousands (a breach in the Architectural Code of Conduct). Their slow, inconsistent communication and release of plans created confusion and an illegal build of a steel frame that failed building control, and we are left to pay. They refused to come on site to help.
They failed to honor an agreement to release the 3D drawings of our house until we raised the issue up to the Senior Management – we have since been chastised for doing this.
As clients we feel undervalued and not appreciated. The further into the design, the later the replies came, and the more we asked questions the less communication we received. What little communication received was inconsistent, confused, muddled. As a consequence, we have incurred considerable costs. We have repeatedly asked, pleaded for help, but only gained traction after emailing the founders of the company, we had minimal communication from our case manager. There was a clear demarcation in the communication where they must have sought legal advice.
There is also an undertone of dismissiveness towards the female input. Although a trivial matter, the female client felt undervalued, ignored, and overlooked on several occasions. Had they taken her concerns seriously and subsequently checked their drawings, our major issue which we are having would not have happened.
In total, we do not recommend RESI. If you still want to: good luck, because they failed us on every aspect of a design company - there to make life easier. Our dream home failed because of their lack of engagement, communication and clarity.

Firstly, we are deeply sorry your experience did not meet expectations. We wanted to come back to your review as we value every piece of feedback, from every customer.
Regarding communication, timeframes and being clear on the process we use our online platform to guide each customer step by step with the inclusion of an Account Manager to aid the journey. We apologise if anything was confusing, or delayed. The design process is to gain planning approval and move onto the building regulations to include the detail ready for tender and then to build. We did provide two initial layouts and submit to the council promptly to maintain progress.
We can see that the survey was completed prior to the Christmas break in 2021, your customer brief was filled out on the 18th January 2022 and the application was submitted to the council on the 3rd February, there was no intention to prolong the process. Subsequently we started the building regulations, providing multiple redesigns and layouts. We fully acknowledge there was an issue with the height at which a steel was placed and therefore we redesigned the stairs to give the right amount of head height. We would expect everything to be set out on site prior to installation as we can always help if a discrepancy is found (this is also stated on our drawings).
To be clear we do not have an in house building control team - we recommend approved inspectors that work with us to assess the drawings to see if anything does not comply prior to starting the works on site. This is very typical and communication began with the approved inspector in August to cover the structural design/calculations and fire strategy.
We did not seek any legal advice but worked with you and your husband to resolve the issues through changes to the drawings and multiple phone calls. We acknowledge you put forward ideas also which led to collaboration to create something achievable, and desirable.
We cannot accept that every voice is not heard. Our two female founders stand for equality so we feel deeply saddened you felt like this.

We used Resi for our attic conversion, and also a quote for a rear extension, we only proceeded with the attic. Resi were absolutely fantastic from the first point of contact to the last. I’d never had a project like this before and every member of the Resi team I dealt with was super friendly, helpful and willing to hold my hand throughout. The online portal was fantastic as it told me step by step what to do and what was coming next. So easy! Not only would I highly recommend these guys, but would happily and without hesitation use again.

Surveyor measured incorrectly which means we lost 6-8” from the bedroom. Really disappointed after paying for a service to prevent this exact thing. Means we won’t be able to use the rear dormer as intended.
Update: 20/06/2022 - Resi admitted getting the plans wrong. However they are now trying to push the blame onto the builders, because they believe that the builders should have called them if the plans were wrong! What’s the point of using a service that get it wrong and then try to blame others for their own mistakes. I’d avoid personally because it feels as though it was a waste of time and money engaging Resi’s services, when I could have just worked with the builders (who have been great) and have the same end result.
I’ll update this review when I next speak to their Head of Customer Service as this is an ongoing complaint.

In regards to the above and as mentioned in our correspondence, Resi are not part of the onsite contract or works beyond the drawings and don't get involved on site, we can offer third party support in terms of Project management and consultants but the relationship on site is very much between the customer and the contractor.
In your particular case and as discussed with you, the contractor should always set things out on site ahead of starting the work and contact Resi if any issues arise or if further detail is needed from us.
Like all projects it is very common once on site to see small differences between drawings and what’s going on on site which is why the builder should check measurements and lay things out ahead of construction. If Resi would have been notified at the time ahead of construction we could have stepped in and assisted further with this / spoken to yourself and the builder etc. We do appreciate they did their best to maximise the space regardless.
We have spoken to your builder on this occasion who informed us that the reality of your project and property size was that it was always going to have a small loft with constraints. He also mentioned that he talked you though a number of options at the time and you decided to go with what you have today.
We are sorry that you are frustrated with the outcome and situation and can completely understand this. We too are sorry that we couldn’t have been involved at the right time to step in and help you here.
We firmly believe that we have reached and offered a fair amount of compensation and wish you all the best in the future.

I asked Resi for help on a project, they took me on the wrong path by proposing a planning and permission application while it was not necessary. They have also not listened to my queries and their designs were not in line with what we wanted to do.
I had to stop as they were not adding any value but more importantly, they refused to refund me despite not having delivered what they were supposed to deliver.

Great experience working with the RESI team. We handled our own planning but RESI provided a cost effective way to get measured survey, building regs and structural calculations done. Outside of this their RESI connect service has been extremely helpful in finding competitive quotes for additional services, from party walls through to builders.
Would certainly recommend, great service and value for money.

Great service architectural and connect service overall. We used Resi to provide architect drawings and connect us to various service providers ahead of starting our big renovation work. We found the services good especially being poor for time and having 2 very young kids. Alessio the main architect also provided really good ideas for reconfiguring the ground floor of our house.

Absolutely horrible experience with Resi architects and would not recommend them at all. Please avoid at all costs
Good points:
They have great marketing
Great sales pitch that hooks you in
Great online portal that shows you your building and drawing plans
Bad points:
Constantly chasing for money as soon as each step is completed
No personal service
Hard to contact your assigned designer - no direct number and you have to contact them through their portal. They take ages to respond
Poor communication when plans have been submitted to the council. No follow up with the customer either so you don't hear anything.
Designers have poor research capability
Designs are not well thought out. Our plans were rejected as the council called it ugly and intrusive. After finding other architects (F Line Designs) and seeing their design for our extension (for a cheaper quote I might add), I realised why council rejected our plans. Our original design was very ugly.
This all happened in April 2021. I have had plenty of time to reflect on my experience with Resi and I'm happy to say that my new plans have been approved by the council (Sept 2021) and seeing the difference between Resi's design and my new design, I believe that the Design Consultant at Resi was not really experienced,. I'm not even sure the person assigned to us was an architect. I gave many many references to George Clarke's Amazing spaces programmes and I was really expecting something quite special for the price they charge for their service but it was very poor. In comparison F Line were way way better for a better price. Unfortunately, contractually as they have fulfilled their end of the contract, I am unable to get any money back.
I was bitterly disappointed with Resi's service. In a nutshell, their marketing is way better but their service doesn't back it up. I would not recommend them at all. Trust me there are better architects out there.

You guys are ACES! absolutely unbelievable, my planning application is granted!!! This is amazing, taking into account that it was highly unlikely and refused before (when dealing with other architect). It makes such a difference when dealing with real professionals - results talk for themselves!

Resi have been great so far on our project, setting expectations and always meeting their self set deadlines. Jack really supported us through the design stage and we are really happy with the quality of the drawings and the consultations we had in order to come up with the final plan for submission.

It's important to feel totally at ease with your design team and despite our interactions being virtual (Covid 19) from the outset of this project we felt really comfortable with RESI. The initial enquiry call set the standard which soon lead to instruction, design & planning. Throughout each interaction we have encountered nothing but first class service and client care. It was really down to this quality of service why we decided to also utilise RESI Finance to secure the funding for the project.
Plus points are definitely the online portal/dashboard with information re milestone payments, information on costs for projects as well as relevant literature on practical things to think about when undergoing major construction/redevelopment work. We have now submitted our plans for approval and hope this will go through smoothly first time.
All in all we are extremely happy with the services Resi have provided. In terms of costs/fees I do not think RESI are the cheapest but you pay for quality and I would not hesitate to recommend or use their services again.
