“We have worked with Patricia Brennan Architects on 4 different projects of varying scale - from a kitchen/bathroom remodel to the transformation of a 4-story derelict warehouse into an AIA award winning building of artist live/work spaces. Each experience has left us with a deep appreciation for the work she does and how she does it. Patricia listens closely - she listens to the physical space of the project and she listens to the desires and needs of her clients. She engages in a collaborative dialogue at the outset of a project and continues the dialogue until the project is complete. She has an amazing sense of color, a wide range of knowledge about all kinds of materials (from lighting to flooring and everything in between) and she provides recommendations for high quality professionals and reliable contractors. She’s attentive to detail, to budget, to practical problem solving and to the aesthetics, flow and functionality of a space. Each project we’ve done with Patricia has exceeded our hopes and left us with living spaces we love to be in. We feel fortunate we were able to work with Patricia for the first time 22 years ago – after that initial experience we knew whenever we embarked upon another project she would be the only person we would call. “I am so pleased with the work the Refine Design architecture team has delivered for our home remodel. We bought a funky 1940s house that needs a ton of love and work. At first, it was quite overwhelming to not know the possibilities of the home and what could modernize it but also maintain some of the original factors that we love. We had a couple of ideas when we sat down with the team and they not only helped bring our vision to life, but offered different ideas and a point of view we had not thought of. I highly recommend this duo - they are incredibly easy to work with and passionate about what they do. Thank you both for your help with our home!”

“Renovation design for our 1910 crumbling craftsman - updated the look while preserving craftsman character. Punched out the roofline to create a dramatic front porch that casts lighting into a beautiful cedar ceiling you can see from a block away. We have the most unique craftsman on the block that is both beautiful and functional. Highly recommend!!”

His experience and advise on our floor plan included a necessary home office that kept the home and work space separate yet all inclusive. Excellent advise. “We hired Velocipede because we were looking for a remodel of a tiny old Ballard house, and wanted to make it as sustainable as possible: we were looking for 4-star built green-level of performance, post-consumer waste materials in sourcing, support of a strong daily cycling family culture, a modern open space with a working kitchen/social space at its heart. Velocipede delivered and then some. We have lived in the new space for five years and are delighted with the way it expresses and eases our day-to-day life! Velocipede's design works really well and opened up the space like a breath of air. Throughout, Velocipede really showed that they "got" us. The firm was attentive, thoughtful, respectful of the limitations of our budget, and provided solid and considerate guidance to make trade-offs during construction. I can't recommend them strongly enough! Note: our house remodel is the Davenport/Sharon house, pictures are shown ind the "projects" section and the budget reflects construction as well as design fees.”
