“When I chose Saltwater Homes to build my home, it was the best decision I made. From the time I signed the contract until the closing, I was a daily part of the decision making process. Lane Baker, owner of Saltwater Homes went through every detail from start to finish. It is an elevated Louisiana Plantation style house with 32" overhangs with each of the dove tails hand-crafted. The Project Manager and all of the subcontractors hired for the job were professional, friendly, and their work was impeccable. I felt as if I were a part of the team. Allowances were given for cabinets, countertops, fixtures, appliances, and bathroom tubs, sinks, etc. The amounts allotted were very satisfactory. The building process was the most fun I have had. Everything went as planned and if it didn't, we just monitored and adjusted to fit the schedule. When the house was completed I came in $600.00 over budget and the builder called it a wash. Most things you here about builders aren't good. Everything you do is an up charge. Not so with Saltwater Homes. They have won two Prism awards for houses in a certain price point, the Crowley and the Bearden Residence in 2012, and three homes in 2013. The most prestigious award that was given by the Charleston Builder's Association was for "The Best Customer Service." That says it all. If you are thinking about building a home, think about Saltwater Homes.”

“Shaun has done several miscellaneous jobs for me over the last couple of years and done a good job with them. One job was replacing non-conforming trim pieces with HardiPlank. He had good people out that did a professional job. Shaun also replaced my roof a couple of years ago. The hardware showed up in advance and the crew came out early and got the job done that day. The crew knew what they were doing and appeared to do a professional job with very little required follow up. The most recent job was a partial kitchen remodel that turned out very well. The project kept to the schedule and the workers behaved in a respectful and professional manner.”

“We purchased a 1,740 sq. ft. condo (built in 1988) and hired James Gardner Construction (highly recommended by our realtor) to completely upgrade the place...new HVAC, new gas fireplace, all new hardware floors, tile flooring in bathrooms and utility space, new bathroom toilets and vanities, washer and dryer, kitchen appliances, marble counter tops throughout kitchen and 3 bathrooms, lighting, master bedroom shower, walk-in closet including centered island, plantation shutters, window box seats and storage area, barn door, converted foyer coat closet to "mud room" style with bench, hangers and shelf, added french doors between kitchen and hallway as well as walk-in closet, and painted the entire place. James Gardner Construction provided a project plan within our budget and were very flexible and easy to work with when it came to changes.
