I APPRECIATE YOUR DESIGN DILEMMA. THE TILES YOU ARE CONSIDERING ARE REALLY PRETTY. I ALSO LOVE THE LOOK YOU HAVE BEEN CREATING. YOUR KITCHEN SOUNDS LIKE A FIRED EARTH STYLE KITCHEN, CLASSY. I HAVE CONSIDERED THE ABOVE ADVICE WHICH MAKES SENSE FOR DIFFERENT REASONS. I WOULD SAY THAT IF YOUR NOT PLANNING TO MOVE ITS SO IMPORTANT THAT YOU CHOOSE A FLOOR THAT YOU LOVE. I HAVE LEARN'T BY MY MISTAKES. I ONCE HAD THE SAME DILEMMA AND WAS PLANNING TO MOVE AFTER MY SHAKER KITCHEN REMODEL. I WENT FOR TRAVERTINE FLOOR AS I THOUGHT IT WOULD SELL QUICKER. I DID THE FLOOR AND NEVER MOVED, SON MOVED BACK HOME WITH HIS FAMILY. I THEN LIVED IN THE PROPERTY FOR A FEW YEARS AND HAD MAJOR REGRET ABOUT NOT GOING FOR MY GUT INSTINCT ON FLOOR. I THINK THE FLOOR WILL LOOK SENSATIONAL. IT WILL BE STUNNING WITH THE COLOUR OF YOUR UNITS. JUST WARM UP WITH ACCESSORIES, COPPER PANS AND ACCESSORIES ARE VERY TRENDY RIGHT NOW. KEEP THE WALLS LIGHT. Hello Mrs G! I personally love the tile, it really is beautiful and that's why it needs to be highlighted. Having too much of it will drown it so to speak so I would do either one of these 2 options: 1) Leave it on the main floor only. Then on the platform floor and wall, up to the window, I would put a matte grey tile of the exact same colour as the grey in your feature tile. 2) Or put it only on the wall behind the bath up to the ceiling a bit like this: I really think that's your 2 options as otherwise it might be too much. With these I think you'll agree it "frames" the tiles more so they have a real impact. Hope that helps! Anthony

Any chance you have enough room outside the bath for a barn door? That would open up your floor plan greatly. I just got done installing pocket doors in my bath and office, huge space saver-but a lot of work. The barn door concept wont give you the air tight seal of a door but since ive put mine in, it is hardly ever used lol. If you can do either of those I would seriously consider moving the door closer to the tub and putting your vanity on the wall to the left. You will have a lot more storage, the layout will seem less hectic and if you are doing this for yourself (not planning on moving) you will enjoy it more. My initials used to be AD lol, now I am ADG

Post as many photos as you can, it will really help. Colour temperature is not something that we can measure, it is a 'feel' thing so we are all affected by it in different ways. I know I am really affected by it and so could never paint a room with pale blue/grey walls unless it was south facing and made of glass. Interestingly, the trend for grey was really pushed in the industry by the same people who are now pushing warm peachy beige interiors. It's fashion, pure and simple. Another factor is that LED lights (most of which are too yellow or too blue) make cream paint look sickly whereas the old Halogen dichroic lights were very flattering. Many true grey paints are actually blue which can look cold, pure white almost certainly looks and feels cold in rooms starved of natural light. In general there are creamy yellow based neutrals, green/yellow neutrals, cooler green or blue neutrals and taupe neutrals which are usually a bit red or red violet. Avoid anything too yellow with a grey that looks very blue, they will exaggerate each other. Skimming Stone is a good colour as it has a bit of magenta in but can appear warm enough to look pleasing but isn't creamy. I also have grey tiles in my kitchen and dining room where I have painted the walls Joanna by Little Greene which is a very pale taupe. If a room feels flat then a shot of saturated warm colour such as a deep olive can really cut through the grey and warm it up. Another thing to consider is painting the skirting boards the same colour as the wall, it can then just look like a white room that is easy on the eye. This is 'Joanna' in my dining room. Another thing that can help is add as much nutty brown as possible. Brown can be a dirty orange, yellow orange, red and even purple/reds. People say every room needs black, I say every room needs brown. Hope this helps.
