lights are the Beaded Sconce from Nova Lighting; the mirror is a second-hand item that was painted silver.

Hi Suzi, Without a true colour swatch, obtained from Ralph Lauren you will have a near impossible task of matching the colours. If you can get a swatch though, a Dulux paint mixing centre will most likely be able to match the colour. However a big word of caution… colours on the computer screen, the direction of the light into the room, the season, and the properties location (in this instance the US) all have an effect on how A the camera and B how your eyes see the colour due to the difference int he light hitting the surface. So just because the colour looks great in the photo doesn’t mean it’ll be the right colour or look the same way in your bathroom. Alternatively building professionals i.e architects and painters can obtain full colour fanbooks from the likes of Dulux which offer thousands of colour swatches to look at. I suggest you find a way to get hold of one and have a look yourself, think to yourself will this colour look like how I want in my bathroom/like the one I’ve seen… If you can’t do that in your bathroom with it’s own light conditions, order a colour swatch (or a few) from Dulux and hold it up in your bathroom to see how it looks there, and if you need a bigger area to make a decision, thats what tester pots are for. If my screen / Ralph Lauren’s online colours are anything like accurate, try Dulux 10YY 44/125, order a colour swatch and see if it’s similar. I hope that helps,

Thanks ybrough ! I have gone for white ! Will def post the results !!! I've another little dilemma ! Since I'm a perfectionist this has been bothering me !!! We got the shower head fitted in a slightly wrong postion so after movjng it we were left with a hole in the corner of the tile which we got Filled with grouting . It's not obvious I think only I would notice it. It's one of the tiles that's in the shower . Should I leave it alone or chane the tile ??? Problem with changing the tile is that the tiles around it might get chipped in the process ? That's what I've been told . Any thoughts or suggestions would be very appreciated ! Thanks

I've been waiting for someone to ask me this :-) I think your first idea is a good one. You could go one of two routes: 1. part tile in white satin ceramic and edge with chrome or satin strip or a pencil tile - something from Original Style Glassworks range would look great but they are pricey- then paint two walls in a strong but not saturated blue toned grey: something like F&B Hardwick White or Little Greene's Urbane Grey and Inox - if possible get two shades on the walls. For the floor I would go with a grey and white lino check and accessorise as you've suggested - I would steer clear of anything orange that is going to accentuate the orange tone in the suite but ochre tones would work, for example macrame plant hangers. I would stick to chrome and satin nickel. Choose an off white for any woodwork - Flake White has a very slight hint of brown which would balance the champagne without you being conscious of it. 2. Again use white satin tiles and edge with chrome or satin nickel strip or a glass pencil tile but this time "lose" the champagne tone among other neutrals as you've suggested: from the Fired Earth colour card, shades like Canvas, White Ochre, Old White, Papyrus and again Flake white would work well. Again a grey and white check would work for the floor or even this wood effect, which picks up the brown tones. Accessorise with dark blue/grey accents and plenty of greenery. I always advise use of a sample board. Play about with paint samples. We sell painted A4 sheets for £1 each plus postage - cheaper than tester pots and more effective. If the different elements work together on the board, they will work in the room. Alternatively we offer sample boards to buy or hire - £30 or £15 respectively. Each board includes a range of compatible samples which you then pick and mix, eliminating what you don't like until you arrive at the scheme you want. Good luck!

Large bathroom vs small bathrooms / ensuite

I'd make one big bathroom but have a door into it from your bedroom as well as from the hall - so it's an ensuite most of the time, but guest access from hall when necessary. Agree with above to make a lovely bedroom and bathroom for yourselves and share with guests - who will also appreciate a lovely bathroom rather than a small internal one. And from your two-bath solution - the main reason for me to want an ensuite is to have easy access to the toilet from bedroom during the night, so having the toilet separate from both bathrooms (and especially far from the ensuite) makes no sense to me at all. While Jonathan's idea works better if you want two smaller bathrooms, I'd rather have one big bathroom and no ensuite than a tiny ensuite.
