Help..which colour modern radiator should I go for...Black or grey?
Comments (5)Hello decor178, Depends what the rad looks like. I would usually suggest paint the colour of the walls.. If something fantastic and old style like the two I love which are fantastic anywhere.. They have a modern industrial finish which deserves to be shown off.. then I would suggest grey or charcoal but a matt finish rather than gloss. They do though come in a range of finishes.. from chrome to nickel to a copper/brassy finish.. Again it depends on the walls... better to see what you are talking about and the room itself with the furnishings to really get an idea.... .. . :))Or if a box standard plain and boring.. painted as wall will be or add a cover as Brandi suggested- quite plain and then paint as walls are painted.. .....See MoreWhere should I put a mirror in this bathroom?
Comments (13)I wondered where this post had disappeared to. I had a couple of thoughts, though partly covered above. I agree that circular mirror would avoid avoid accentuating the asymmetry of the wall. I would center the mirror above the washbasin with something else to the right, such as the two mirror photo that kikiamack posted. I definitely think a mirror is required, either for shaving or for make-up. I also wondered if you could get the vanity the other way round. I.e. with the narrower end by the bath. I can't totally visualize it, but just think it might look better that way. As for the original post, yes, there are one or two (or maybe a couple more) Pros on the US site, whose behavior is distinctly unprofessional. I think they see themselves as 'a bit if a character' and substitute ignorant rudeness for when they lack an answer to the question that is actually asked. I'm not a pro by any means, but I can see how the design might look unusual. However, I would start from the premise that the room is designed around an owner's specific requirements and not to please people who can only follow the current rules. Be grateful that you have your own site where you are free of their sneering!....See MoreWhich layout should I go for?
Comments (7)I also prefer the 2nd option as having the living space separate to the bedroom space is ideal. You also have 2 storage cupboards in the hallway? You could utilise these for extra clothing or knock through from the small bedroom into the one cupboard to give a wardrobe space (hard without physically seeing it to know if that would work of course) kitchen wise - yes it isn’t as long but it has a nice shape (plus the balcony!) and I think you could add a peninsular island to this to create a dining space. If it comes off the wall with seating then it take up less space than a dining table and will give you more living space. Get some gas lift padded comfy stools with foot rest and you won’t notice it’s not a standard dining table! Plus it’s extra cooking/prep space when you have company....See MoreBig guestroom wall dilemma (also, should I keep this mirror?) :)
Comments (10)Thanks for the comments! @Daisy England, there will be a desk there, just a nicer and a smaller one. @Fiona Cochran, I am not sure if I am brave enough to paint the entire room the same colour :D but will give it some thought. The mirror does sound more than just a little out of place, I just like it for some strange reason, but it doesn't fit anywhere! I should take this as a hint. @wallsauce this looks really interesting, but I am not sure how it would look on a wall where there are bog-standard white doors as well....See MoreManon Floreat
