How would you decorate around this picture?
Comments (17)Don't change a thing.....not even the frame. But do a rich natural grasscloth wall covering with it because the painting looks high end-like something you'd purchase at an antique shop. I'd do a gorgeous phillip jeffries new wallpaper on the wall with this. Real art makes all the difference in a home. Its the difference between something that is often catalog like vs something original & real....See MoreHow would you decorate this living room?
Comments (21)Hi everyone! He's been living there over 20 years now and completely revamped the room when he first moved in (adding in the fireplace, dado rail, adding the fan design to the ceiling!). It all looked very fresh when it was first done but 20 years is a long time. The ceiling is just standard, the holes you can see are from where he's having spotlights put in. I've searched Egyptian Cotton and agree that this is a lovely warm neutral, thank you for the recommendation I will definitely let him know to check it out. I love the idea of viewing the outside window as a feature wall and incorporating these natural elements into the room, my dads house backs on to woodlands and is surrounded by trees so it's all very green out there....See MoreHow would you use this space?
Comments (2)Hi Christy, congratulations on your new house! Based on the description you made and considering you are not using the door between the kitchen and the family room, I would like to suggest a few things based on what is more important for you: 1. If you don't want/need a TV, I would place a couch each side of the Lounge, with one or two armchairs in between. This would allow for a more flexible space, as adults could gather near one of the couches, and would provide room for children to play between the two couches, in the middle or near the couch that is not used by the adults. In this case, the family room can become a nice open dinning space with enough space for storage and decorations. 2. If you would like a TV in the space, I would place 2 couches in the family room, one to the left or to the right wall with the TV on the other wall, and one to the wall near the existing living room. Then I would also place a couch to the right wall of the lounge with one armchair nearby. In this case, the play area of the kids would be in front of the sliding doors and you could have some storage on the left wall of the lounge. Please let me know your thoughts or if you have other ideas for the space and feel free to contact me when you consider enlarging the space further. Have a nice evening, Alina...See MoreHELP,HOW WOULD YOU DECORATE THIS BEDROOM
Comments (14)The Glass Warehouse bottom pic is where my mind went with this. Id go for a plain silver/light grey rug. Always look great against dark wood. Remove curtains altogether, replace with a plain pale grey or white black out roller blind, straight edge. Looks like theres room to have larger chests of drawers, stick to similar dark wood. Pure plain white bedding, then accent with a mix of green and silver/grey, green and a darker grey cushions, bring in some pattern here and plain ones , perhaps to break it up. you could also add a throw blanket ovrr right corner of the bed, could be black to tie in with chandeliier?? Then a couple of big lamps to fill space on the back wall, simple shades in a pale/silver grey. Silver accents on chests Woold give you a modern/hotel look. just an idea, i get carried away! hope you end up with something you really love ....See More- 9 years ago
