Need window blinds

I was looking for blinds for a toddlers room with a blue room that would keep the room dark when drawn.
Would love some suggestions of styles and places to look.

I didn't see black out blinds, but I did see these drapes with black out lining.

If you would like to stick to a horizontal blind, go routless - there will be no holes in the slats for light to peek through. Also, order the blinds as an outside mount, increasing the width and length 1-2 inches: this will prevent light from peeking through the sides, top or bottom. If your blind has a pull or tilt cord, use a decorative tie back to wrap the cord around to keep away from the toddler.

Hi Lisa, I completely understand your dilemma, I'm moving house soon and have exactly the same type of window as you. My suggestion would be to have a Voile roller blind, as I know that you said you don't like Voile curtains. This would be a great way of keeping your privacy in the room, whilst still allowing plenty of light into your room. I'd then pair this with Dorma Window Curtain Poles (the would be to the side of the recess rather than within). I've attached images of both of my suggestions below. Regarding how easy it is to take the Blinds-2go blinds on/off (e.g. for cleaning, when your windows open inwards): I asked my partner who fitted ours, and he says that basically there are two small circle shaped pieces at either end of the roller. The roller then slots in to these (one on the left and one on the right), and then you twist and - et voila - it is held securely. He says that that because the roller is held fairly tight between the two end pieces it's not a job you would want to be doing regularly, but occasionally now and then for cleaning would be fine.

The problem with curtains inside the bay is that they will potentially knock anything on the large cill area. Roman blinds will cover some of the window all the time. There are Venetian type blinds that fit into each window pane that might work but you lose the softness that curtains/fabric bring. I'd try a couple more curtain companies to see what they suggest.

Shutters are a classic, timeless look that goes well with various interiors. I found a few client photos with windows similar to yours. We had another client who opted for a boxed pelmet with pinch pleate curtains which could work with your window. It creates a very clean and elegnt look. Plus voiles for extra privacy but still allows light in. Similar but with a voile curtain To save on costs you can forgo the pelemt box, pinch pleats or eyelets look stylish as is.
