Lovely house... simple, elegant and inviting. The built in cabinet in the bath, can you share the type of wood this is made from and the stain color? Thanks!

The homeowner already had the corner cabinet, and the designer trimmed it out to give it a built-in look.

Our TV stands on a dining room buffet, which is very good for storage and raises the TV up without having it on the wall (not possible to hide cords with concrete walls). No point in trying to disguise it here. It gets used every evening; besides there's really nowhere to hide it if I did want to.

We also have a North facing lounge for which we wanted a warm, cosy feel as we only really use it in the evenings... We painted it Hague Blue and love the result! In the dining room we painted the ceiling Hague Blue too. Our kitchen is Green Smoke which is also a gorgeous colour and may go better with the grey sofas...? There are a couple of other greens I’ve seen and liked too but will have to find the names!

Thanks for your plan @Wumi! With two of us working from home all day I don't think I could face moving the office or sitting room to the darkest part of the house. As the current utility room has a translucent roof at the moment, and a glass door to the dining room, removing it wouldn't really bring more light into the middle of the house, so I think whatever room(s) gets placed there needs to be something that isn't used for long periods of time or, perhaps, 'embraces the dark'. It's a relatively large space for a utility and toilet alone though. Any ideas for what other rooms could go in a relatively windowless space? I think my imagination has hit a wall! Thank you!

The warmth and different textures of that wood are lovely. It gives the appearance of a light beachy feel but yet strong enough to make a statement all on it's own. The carpentry is done well and it definitely looks like it was "built in" for that space! Thanks so much for replying :)
