Front door advice? Would a timber door suit our mock tudor house?
Comments (15)I agree with darker - I think the reason the light door PP posted looks good is the style. A light colour with a modern design wouldn't have the same effect. This a Cromwellian house in Herefordshire fitted with one of our stainless steel Letterplates and the door colour looks great with the black and white. The porch timber is paler than the rest of the house timbers (you can just see the black window frame to the right) and is a modern addition but as it's still a shade of grey it all works well together. Have fun deciding!...See MoreTimber frame Bi fold doors
Comments (2)Good morning, we supply and install the German designed and manufactured SUNFLEX SF75h timber bifold doors which are the only German system to carry a BSI Kitemark and Secured by Design certification. Unlike other timber systems the SF75h has slim sightlines (122mm) that maximise the amount of glass, includes a continuous double gasket seal for supreme weather performance, and can be fitted to an opening up to 25 metres wide (12 panels in each direction). The doors can be designed to open inwards or outwards and you can choose between a flush track or a weathered track. The doors are manufactured from Meranti, Nordic Pine, Larch, Oak or Douglas Fir and are available with a wide range of stain or paint finishes. SUNFLEX have been manufacturing bifold doors for more than thirty years and IDSystems has been by far the largest supplier and installer of SUNFLEX doors in the UK for the last seventeen years. Based in Norwich our 15 highly skilled installation teams cover the entire country, including London and the South East....See MoreNeed your help with this bathroom! Project come to grinding halt!
Comments (15)I am not sure the loo has to be on the outside wall - it could be anywhere, you just have to box in the large pipe that will run from it to the outside wall. I know it's irritating when people say start again but the room seems a bit bitty and if the basin and loo were in a run of units, separated by small cupboards, with a continuous surface along the top of the whole run, it would look really rather sleek. And the pipe could run under the units, hidden by it - that's what I've done in my bathroom. Stick a mirror above the units, covering the whole wall from surface to ceiling, and side to side, and it will make the room seem much bigger. Are you having a towel radiator in there? That will add some character if you have towels that complement the colours you choose. Then add some interesting bits and pieces to make it seem less utilitarian....See MoreHelp on Painting Oak in-Frame Kitchen
Comments (17)Yes both, I’m doing a two tone kitchen. Craig and Rose tintern stone for top cabinets and finally decided on Valspar timber green which is green but almost black for lower cabinets. The Craig and Rose is good and has great sticking power but i noticed with some of the test pots and I’ll warn you it’s smelly...not like oil based paint fumes but like cheesy socks smelly. Glad I decided not to use it on the walls. And the Wilko clear varnish is the best I’ve used so far, comes in matt, satin and gloss, all water based, thin but I highly recommend. Not used them myself but Little Greene paints are supposed to be very good and I think they do oil based eggshell which should be very durable for kitchen cabinets. Tad expensive tho which is why I went for the emulsion and varnish method....See MoreJML Garden Rooms
