How to decide on a piece of Art for wall
Comments (7)Hello fragle0, Open-ended questions like yours has so many possible answers that it's impossible to give you a direct answer. You may need to have a really good look at various websites, shops and artists creations to give yourself a feeling of what you would consider hanging on your walls, and what you clearly don't like. Seeing as you're on Houzz, why not have a look at some artworks from the DECOR tab at the top of the page as a start. Also, have a look at my website, particularly my BESPOKE DESIGNS section, for artwork that has been specifically created to compliment any rooms decor and furnishings: http://thejonescollection.gallery All the best in whatever you decide to choose....See MoreWhat's the most you've spent on art?
Comments (19)In the world of art always make sure you like what you buy. If you think of art as an investment, it could be a sour experience. Love the artwork you acquire. There will be no regrets later. The following works went at different price levels, prices in random order. One was around £5k, another on the £10k and a third one for just under £20k. Have fun guessing. All of them good South American artists....See MoreRecently started my own business selling my art.. help me!
Comments (28)Regarding how much for originals, that really is how long is a piece of string type question. Have a think about how long it would take you to do each one, cost of materials, a wage for yourself etc, look at the prices for similar pieces. But also think about how much you will be charging for limited edition prints as the cost of the print will reflect the cost of the original. So, for example, if a limited edition signed print was £200, you wouldn't sell the original for £300. Prices of limited edition prints depend upon how many you are doing. Personally (and this is purely my own purchasing history, I don't have any knowledge of the artist circumstances so whether they are full time or more of a hobby etc) but I pay around £200 for a signed, limited edition print. The original of this work is around £800...See MoreDoes Art matter?
Comments (8)For me, art really matters. It has to mean something to me or otherwise what's the point? My home is the one place I get to be surrounded by people and objects that I love so I couldn't put up something just because the colours matched. I've got mix of prints, originals, and even things cut out of catalogs, you'd be surprised what a home-made mount and the right frame can do! 😁 That said, it's a very personal decision and if you don't feel compelled to agonise over what a piece means to you then don't. life's too short. If it fitting your scheme and looking good it was what need right now then that's totally okay too....See MoreEades & Draw
