Best gift you ever received?
Comments (6)Hello Tom, Well I have been given a fair few really beautiful pressies over the years...One I fondly miss and used it till it fell apart in my 30's! Japanese school satchel for my 12th birthday.. It was black lacquer leather... Purple reflectors underneath for when you're leaning over your bike cycling.. and a hook for ones gym shoes.. On the reverse it had cream padded leather for your back... It was really beautiful! It was the boys traditional colour as red or navy for girls.. Loved the black and would have been my choice! Everyone loved it.... It was sooo different.. My best friend used to carry it round at lunch and tell everyone her Uncle bought it for her... (of course that was my Uncle) It was truly magnificent.. Came in handy too when.. you know the types.. Bully girls.. with nothing upstairs!! Jealous and stupid types whispering about people behind the scenes, nasty girls!! .. She followed me, tried to pull my hair, call me names, kicking and scratching like a hissy fit.. so she got a cool swing of said bag (full of books) Fell over in a puddle to a laughing crowd- I wasn't laughing!.. BUT.. never came near me again! The satchel though and I were as happy as anything.. It was probably the best satchel in the world! : ))...See MoreWhen is the Best Time to Buy a New Fireplace?
Comments (0)What springs to mind when you think fireplace? Dark winter evenings? Cosy nights drinking hot coco? It’s understandable that when those cold months creep in, the thought of buying and installing your new fireplace is more to the front of your mind. As we love our range of beautiful hand crafted fireplaces, we think that anytime is a good time to purchase a new fireplace! However, as we receive the ebb and flow of customers each year, we do realise more ideal times to make the purchase. We’re sure that especially with the great weather we have been having lately, you’re thinking more ice lollies and paddling pools than the warming glow of a fire. But it’s because of this reason that we think the summer is most the ideal time to buy your fireplace and here are 4 reasons why: Less Haste When your need for a product outweighs the importance of suitability, the process of making an informed decision is rushed. Buying a fireplace in haste will lead to multiple compromises. Since you aren’t reliant on the fireplace in summer, you can afford to shop around, with no pressure to buy quickly. Faster Lead times We have become accustomed to winter being our busiest period for fireplace sales and have the right facilities and experience on hand to cater for an increase in orders. however, as we do make fireplaces to order, lead times have been known to rise because of sheer volume of custom. This means you could wait longer from first consultation to installation if you decide to purchase well into winter. Convenience Any disruption and inconvenience of having workmen in your home is always easier to cope with in the summer. Firstly, you won’t be as reliant on your home space as you have option to spend your time outside. Also, you won’t be as reliant on heat as you are in winter, meaning you won’t suffer any chilly nights whilst the installation is underway. Personal Service Our expert fireplace team are always on hand to give a professional service and we will always do our best to meet our customers’ needs. However, the more time we have to spend with you, the better we can guide and help you make the right choices. What do you think? A fireplace is not an item you change every year therefore, to stand the test of time both visually and functionally, we must make sure our decision on design, style and appliance are right. When do you think is the better time to buy a new fireplace, Summer or Winter?...See MoreWhat's the best piece of life advice you've ever received?

Dad always says.... - Put your socks on before your shoes! - Don’t worry about things until they happen....See MoreWhat could you not live without in your kitchen?
Comments (9)(Combi) steam oven. Vegetables and potatoes taste much better, more vitamins are left in your food, cooking rice and eggs is very easy and you can just walk away while the magic happens. I have a combi one, so can also bake in it with added steam, which is useful for bread. It has loads of programs for different products and beeps at you when you need to add for example potatoes, beans, fish, carrots, so that everything is finished at the same time. I could do without it, but it is a lovely thing to have....See Morejaneayre
