Blank canvas bedroom - need ideas!
Hey can anyone help, I have just bought a place which has been newly renovated and all the walls are painted white with new wooden floors (they look lighter than in the photo) It's a totally blank canvas and I'm clueless at decorating. How do I warm it up a bit. I've just ordered the below metal bed frame and am getting some bespoke white shutters for the window. Wardrobes are built in. I just need beside cabinets, lampshade mirrors etc. to jazz it up a bit. I don't really have a particular style or know what my style is so if anyone can offer some inspiration that would be much appreciated !

Comments (10)Hi, As most people have already pointed out, a good design isn't just about one element like the wallpaper. It is about creating layers and balancing the elements correctly. I too think your gold could work perfectly well with the other walls, carpet and furniture, but you now need to layer accessories/soft furnishings and create a great balance that brings the scheme to life. One of the major problems with the space is the large 'gap' you have about the headboard. It may feel like it's the papers fault but you are just processing the gap as being uncomfortable.. Fill it with a mirror, art work or (I like the idea of) the fabric panel.. And this will make the room feel instantly more comfortable and inviting.. Comments (18)What a lovely room! If you do go neutral, then any colour can be added as a highlight, and all blues go very well with that greige coloured wardrobes. I’ve done my bedroom quite Country twee with Sharpes wardrobes in stone, walls in Dulux Egyptian Cotton and a brushed brass bed. I chose white bedroom furniture from The Cotswold Company. I’ve used pink highlights to tie in with the Laura Ashley curtains. I’m not saying you should do the same, just that mixing furniture can look really good. 8 years agoIf i were you, i'd buy a copy of Ideal Home and get a feel for what you like style wise. Then you can shop accordingly. I'm guessing that as you've chosen a victorian style bed, then you are erring towards that style. Now that you've gone with a black bedframe, you've commited yourself to some Dark Grey's and more black to tie it into the room, with maybe some beige, coffee or browns. You may have been better with white to match the room, then go to town with coloured accessoriess..................anything goes with white. However, i particularly like the last pic showing a black bed x

8 years agoHave a look on my website . www.jacquisieger.com. choose a print to create a theme for your bedroom. Once you have chosen something, it gives you a colours to work from. Now you have soft blues and pink of an early morning sunrise over Corfe Castle ,Dorset, just for an idea. The whole room will now work round the print that you like, making it easy for you to focus on colours and ideas, hope this helps you ?

8 years agoInvest in a few accessories - something for the window sill, a couple of pot plants or prints just to give it some oompf! Something perhaps a little more bold than below, but you get the gist! :)
