What is the name and brand of the paint color?

Hi Judy,

Thank you for your inquiry. Our company did not do the kitchen cabinetry on this project, only the counter tops. However, we have a color and style very similar. The color is a custom color mix called sage. We have samples in our showroom if you'd like to take a look.

If your contractor is preparing them - ie sanding back - then you could maybe use Neptune Isoguard treatment oil. I've used the seasoned oak finish ( on an oak floor admittedly - not Pine) and it gives a lovely whitened wood finish similar to their Henley kitchen colour - but you can put more on or less to alter the effect ?! It's in our lounge - so pretty high traffic - and stands up well ! It's a bit expensive ... But worth it in my experience!

Hi Nicky, my apologies I have only just seen your message. We went for cornforth white Farrow and Ball (which it definitely not white). The shutters are not back open yet but some of them will need to go back on because the large expanses of grey look very grey. The bits next to the white look less austere. The new white garage door with windows has made a big difference. I'd be careful with a very pale grey because if your windows are anything like mine you'll find that they are not actually that white after all....

Is Crown paint poor quality? If so, what brands offer colour match?

I'm no expert but have done a fair bit of decorating / painting over the years and can't say my experience with Crown emulsion has been very positive. Yes, sometimes quite watery (although I'm not a fan of really thick paints like 'one coat' ones), yes multiple coats needed and not very washable once on the walls. Farrow and Ball is certainly way better in all these respects but exorbitantly expensive. I've had good results with Dulux (although some of the white gloss paints have turned quite yellow) but also with Wickes paints. There are many DIY outlets that offer colour matching. I'm sure you'll get some good pointers here on Houzz

Hi Tani. Mmmm. Mixing colours by hand can be tricky in large quantities which is why I suggested taking a small sample of your existing paint first and and seeing how other colours change it. For sampling you can use any acrylic paint (acrylic has similar properties to emulsion) as you’re just trying to identify which colour you need for mixing, could be other tester pots, kids acrylic paints, artists acrylics etc. but when doing the final mix I would use the same brand and finish paint. In theory (and from memory) to make a dark navy blue lighter and warmer you’d need more of a dirty peach colour then add this to the navy at approx 1 part peach to 10 navy then add more if needed. All a matter of trying and testing. Having said all this it may be possible to sell the paint you have now (after all navy is popular atm) and get another colour.
