For me it totally depends on the style of room. I currently have a plain chic leather one which works well in my room as its not vast. But when a room is very large, then a headboard can be an incredible feature. The great thing about headboards is that they can add such depth to a space, either by way of colour, texture or intricate detailing they are also great alternatives to Mirrors and art if you want the bed to take centre stage.

Thanks for your interest drywsdad, we have a couple of low profile headboards that could be suitable for your loft room. I would suggest you take a look at our Arabella, Burdock or Campion beds, all can be found on our website: http://www.buttonandsprung.com/beds. We can also supply bedstead and divan bases without a headboard which would be ideal for a room with limited head room. Hope this helps!

Have you ever considered a real interesting eye catching piece of art work to really brighten up an area, I think a select piece of art would really make the space stand out, add interest, colour, texture and add a great talking point to the room.... I have made bespoke headboards before not quite as big as you are looking for. They were then upholstered by a local company to where I was working. This was built and secured directly to the wall and the bed then pushed up to. I would then make a framed mirror to be fitted before the upholsterer has done their bit and the fabric can be finished off around the frame of the mirrors to make it look built in rather than an add on. Are you wanting the mirrors on the ends of the head board or the face over the bed?
