This was a custom colored finish to gray out the existing 2 1/4 white oak flooring.

Hi Andrea Brooks We can totally understand your dilemma - ‘Magnolia’ is certainly not for everyone! Different colours can evoke different moods and feelings, so don’t limit yourself to one colour throughout your whole house. Dark moody tones work brilliantly in bedrooms, and have been proven to help induce better sleep. Our favourite at the moment is Dulux’s Denim Drift. Bright, fresh colours are great for kitchens, and for creating a lively happy atmosphere. I love Dulux Coral Canyon which is really uplifting. Finally, dusted blues and greens have amazing calming qualities, and are fantastic for any rooms you want to relax and unwind in. Dulux Dusted Moss is a beautiful, versatile colour that will suit most styles of property, either traditional or modern. If you are cautious about using colour, why not introduce it slowly through your accessories, or as a feature wall, as these can be easily updated and replaced. Wow that looks beautiful, I am jealous of the brick. We wanted a very similar colour brick but the council wouldn’t allow and I didn’t want the red brick so we went with blocks and hopefully crisp render. We started our build towards end of Jan. Double extension, the foundations laid and then had the structural engineer out and final final details drawn up. The ground floor blocks have been laid and the scaffold has gone up so don’t know how long that will take. Our builders seem on track and have said August finish but I think it will be September/October Tani how many bedrooms did you have built and how many rooms downstairs? Also from start date to now what has the time scale been? Xx

Ive just had a quote from a builder: ===== Twenty three sq metre footprint extension to consist of: • Block and render with the sufficient celotex in the cavity walls. • Solid floor ( finish to be finalised). • Double doors on entry. • Double doors onto the to be determined. • Downstairs toilet with a wash hand basin. • We didn’t talk about radiators but i will allow for a small one in the toilet and one in the main room. • Two large windows looking towards to next doors property. • The roof to be slate with two large size velux windows. • All pipes to be connected to the mains. • Ive alos allowed for four plugs sockets and spot lights in the ceiling. For the above works you would be looking at around £29,800 + vat. That would include all materials, tipping charges, machinery and labour. ===== As with all builder quotes Ive ever had, it seems very scant on detail. But I suppose thats understandable as they cant be exact on something so nebulous at this stage. So what Id like is to really pin-down exactly what I want. Im thinking the front elevation should be mostly block with a window in it; side elevation (which overlooks neighbours); mostly block with 2 big windows; rear elevation which looks over the field should be mostly glazed. But its really difficult for me to decide without seeing some examples.
