Comments (7)Hi Jen We have decided to do something similar ! we are going to raise the doorway and leave it open much of the time . Only thing is that I can’t have a pocket door as the space isn’t wide enough . We are thinking of options here whether to leave as an open space and have the utility behind cupboard doors . We also can’t have a tall window as the pitch on the roof is so low . So we have opted for a lower full length window which comes up to eye length . We already have a velux in the roof . I would have liked a bigger pice of glass like a flat large glass in the roof but have been told it involves a lot of work to change the roof . Thank you for all your advice ....See MoreSemi detached Victorian house layout
Comments (0)Just wondered if anyone could help me? Does anyone know if this layout/arrangement has a specific name (sort of left to right, rather than front to back) Does anyone else have this house layout and want to share how they use the middle living room space so it's not a thoroughfare?...See MoreHelp with re-designing a semi detached
Comments (7)I think you could possibly achieve your wish list in terms of the rooms, but there may be a compromise on the layout and flow. I think you'd need to consider what is most important to you and how you will use the space. You could turn the current kitchen into a utility/WC, Replace the garden room with a proper extension housing the new kitchen (I would suggest at least 6m x 4m), however access would be via the living room. Then block up the wall between the living room and dining room and re-open the original dining room door. Use the dining room as your snug/office and the living room as an open plan space with the new kitchen/diner. Otherwise, you may have to compromise on the office or the utility room, in which case you would have a number of different layout options....See Moreheaders13
