What colour walls and curtains?
Comments (11)Have a look at these ready made curtains from John Lewis and Debenhams. They are more contemporary designs but have the terracotta of the darker stripe in your furniture. http://www.johnlewis.com/scion-berry-tree-lined-pencil-pleat-curtains-orange/p769510 http://www.johnlewis.com/john-lewis-passion-flower-lined-pencil-pleat-curtains/p1815720?colour=Orange http://www.debenhams.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/prod_10701_10001_33611+Q183007_-1 If you like one of these curtain designs, pick out one of the lighter beige colours for your walls, keeping the woodwork off-white. Once you've changed the curtains, find a more colourful rug to match or do without a rug altogether. Leave the knobs on the knole sofa in the dark wood. It matches your side table nicely....See MoreCan I have two different patterns

Comments (10)Hi, I have a different colour in every room, but by that I mean soft or deep colours, not bright clashing shades. For example my living room is a pale green (F&B Cromarty) all over, leading to my kitchen which is a pale duck egg (Dulux Mint Macaroon) and a navy feature wall (Little Green Woad). Not all rooms need a feature wall and sometimes it can complicate your colour choices. I certainly wouldn’t paint your hall stairs and landing in different greys, stick to one colour. Also grey looks lovely in some lights and grim in others. Light is everything as Marylee states. Another thing is that your colour choices need to gel with the other items in the room such as sofas and furniture. I realise having to decorate a whole house can be daunting, but I would concentrate on one room at a time, make up a mood board featuring furniture styles, wall colours, flooring, accessories etc. If you are finding this difficult then start another post for the first room you wish to decorate, share pictures, and lots of people will give you advice. We’ve all asked for advice on Houzz at some point! Good luck....See MoreWallpaper and curtains - mixing patterns
Comments (3)Hi, that's my wallpaper which I have now bought and the paint colour looks light grey in this image. The fabric on those blinds is the same one and it does come in numerous colourways. The one in your picture is in Zest - the one I copied is in Denim, it also comes in honey and ginger. Although I like the zest it wouldn't fit in with the other items I have bought for the room which are based on the blush tones in the wallpaper! I'm wondering now about whether the denim too dark and the honey might look better. What do you think?...See MoreFlo Mangan
