What's the name & artist of the print?

The large double white daisy print with orange centers and white background, shown with the orange chair and black and white rug... The background in the poster is black. I love it...

How can I find out how to find one?

Hi Linda,

I am glade you love this artwork as much as us, it makes you feel happy just looking at it. :)

We had this piece customised for one of our clients who had a love for Marimekko Design, it's actually fabric that we have had stretched over a canvas it was a limited edition colour way that I don't think is available any more.

If you are interested get in contact we us as we do have some more of the fabric available.

Thank you, Angela. Stretched fabric over canvas. It's so very striking. But I understand limited edition color, and it not being available. I have somehting else, then, in mind for my project.

As someone who taught Textile design on a degree course (before retirement) and prior to that worked in a famous national gallery, I have extremely eclectic taste. I have work painted by myself, work collected from other artists, limited edition prints, framed ephemera, and even two very large antique Victorian watercolors in gold frames - which I wouldn't probably buy these day, but do provide a bit of "weight" and gravitas in rooms. I like to put them against ultra modern lighting and pieces of furniture to give a bit of edge and conversely, put modern art against a couple of pieces of antique furniture we have.

I like both. There is beauty in both formats and I don't think one can claim ultimate format king over the other. There is a constant push to keep old traditionals going, like the yesteryear look in many images, but there are so many new things you can create only with digital software and prints. The lack of imagination is the ultimate and only reason there is not a greater interest in this new way of expression, as opposed to the tradional way of expressing art which is always focusing on the tangible things, the things we have grown up with and are familiar with: i.e figure painting, flowers and nature, lifeless objects, animals, buildings and architectural, etc. This form of artwork is a direct result of the way people used to think about the world around them at that time. We live in a different society now but the thinking is the same - what affects us now is reflected in many forms of expressions, art namely being one of them, but in the formats that people are used to, familiar with and are growing up with. Appreciating different forms of expressions, originals vs. prints, is to accept and embrace the differences of two worlds. Here is a piece I created many moons ago to illustrate my point.

Hi Philip You can hang on wall whatever you like i guess. I would start with a question, is your room soundproofing sorted? After the whole room sound insulation you can then put on wall number of different styles of acoustic panels. And make that way your own art. They are made flat poster look likes or textured like recording studios. I would start with that. Then there are many companies doing large prints so you can use your own photo or picture or notes to make your own personal wallpaper. Just an quick idea anyway:) Kind regards Radek

Hi Tani. Mmmm. Mixing colours by hand can be tricky in large quantities which is why I suggested taking a small sample of your existing paint first and and seeing how other colours change it. For sampling you can use any acrylic paint (acrylic has similar properties to emulsion) as you’re just trying to identify which colour you need for mixing, could be other tester pots, kids acrylic paints, artists acrylics etc. but when doing the final mix I would use the same brand and finish paint. In theory (and from memory) to make a dark navy blue lighter and warmer you’d need more of a dirty peach colour then add this to the navy at approx 1 part peach to 10 navy then add more if needed. All a matter of trying and testing. Having said all this it may be possible to sell the paint you have now (after all navy is popular atm) and get another colour.
