Love the blinds.

How do you pull the blinds up, and stop them from meeting in the middle? I am wanting to make similar for my bedroom with blockout fabric.

Thanks Charity! These are roman shades and they each have their own lift cord (Continuous loop). They are mounted on the inside of the window so they do not touch at all.

You have a lovely bedroom, however, I'm a believer in 'Less is more' and I think a Roman blind with shutters would make the windows look fussy. Presumably, the shutters give the required amount of privacy so why not simply replace the curtains with a material of your own choice. They would also give a little extra warmth during the winter evenings.

Hi, for the bedroom you could have a bottom up roller blind in a sunscreen fabric. This would allow you to roll up the fabric so that your neighbours can't see in but still allow light in. Sunscreen fabric itself allows a view out whilst providing some privacy. In addition, you could have a blackout roller blind for night time. Alternatively, you could just have a bottom up roller blind in blackout fabric, but you wouldn't be getting as much light in the day. For the living room, we would suggest a sunscreen roller blind for the door and window. Sunscreen fabric is perfect for cutting glare on tvs. Here are some bottom up roller blinds in sunscreen fabric which we installed recently. I couldn't see anything online, unfortunately. I have an "official" Velux blackout blind and the beauty of it is that the blind fits into a frame which acts as a guide/runner in a very unobtrusive way, that doesn't protude from the window frame. Consequently the fabric used is extremely thin so that the blind roll can sit within the depth of the window frame when fully pulled up. I don't see how this effect could be achieved with regular curtain fabric which would then need a blackout lining. I have seen pictures on Houzz where curtains are hung outside the window and retained behind a pole placed slightly below the window so that the curtains follow the line of the sloped wall. That might be an option.

Wow, thanks for the replies! I've got a sample and it's definitely chartreuse. was wondering if a bright blue wall would look good (with the other 3 an off white). Or stick to a green feature wall with blue accents.
