What colour should we paint the walls?
Comments (11)The colour you paint the walls very much depends on the behaviours you wish to see coming from the space. How you want it to feel. Who you are as a person. Once that is determined you can then ensure it harmonises and tones well with other spaces coming off your hallway. You could pick any colour you like (there's no such thing as a bad colour) but to make it really work for you and for the long term (which is key - hallways are a pain to decorate and you don't want to have to change it in a months time because you don't like it!). It is important to make sure that if, for example you chose red, is the red going to make you feel the way you wAnt it to? Have you chosen the right red? What is the undertone of the red? Is it yellow based or blue based? Each will give a very different feel. I work as a colour consultant specialising in applied colour psychology. Comments (43)I think your instinct is spot on - the grey does not go with your lovely house at all! You said yourself, 'the grey craze', why follow the herd? Perhaps you should question why you want a 'contemporary colour' instead of one of the many choices which will enhance your beautiful period house. You don't see lovely pink Suffolk cottages, or the black and white half timbered houses characteristic of some areas daubed with grey because it's the latest fad....See MoreWhat colour should we paint our pizza oven?
Comments (5)Thanks for your kind comments! We have designed and completed the work on the garden ourselves (mainly my husband) so it means a lot. It's the dome bit that needs the colour, the base will have wood around the bottom and some tiles on the top. Thanks for finding those pictures, like the aqua one...See MoreShould we choose a different colour front door?
Comments (4)Ah the front door dilemma.....I like a nice bright front door like yellow or bright blue, but if that’s a touch too bright then sage green or lilac is soft. I’ll try and find some idea pictures....See Morelaurazzz
