Is the honed blue Celeste marble or stone? What kind and where could I find, it’s exactly what I’m looking for!

It is a natural stone. You can find it at most stone dealers. It can vary in color from lot to lot so the better quality stone dealers will have the nice blue celeste.

If you can't change the tile, change the plumber ... but seriously, have you had a second opinion? Maybe another plumber would get the job done. Otherwise, what about doing the floor in mother of pearl as well? Do you have a photo of the wetroom in its current state?

The tiles were lifting by the patio doors, so they lifted 2 rows and then realised they couldn't get the same shade of tile. We also then found out they had laid ceramic rather than porcelain, so other houses had reported lots of chips in the tile - so they agreed to take up several houses floors!

hi, it is possible to tile on a timber floor provided that there is a matting placed over the boards before tiling. there are a number of systems out there to use, but a tried and tested product is ditramat. if the floorboards are properly secured to the substrate . the matting will be fine as long as instructions are followed and the subfloor does not have a lot of movement. what will make a difference is the tile you use and the size of grout joint that is used., it may be wise not to have a 1 or 2mm joint as this can result in cracking of the grout or tile. I have used ditramat in the past and found it a durable product. best used with a porcelain tile as it has it's own inherent strength over ceramic tiles, but you can use it with ceramic tiles. important to use flexible adhesive groan good brand Mapei, Bal are ok. if you have a good tiler they can advise. tip dont skimp on the system you use. there are many cheaper alternatives. hope this can help along with all the myriad of good advise bestowed on you. best Rowland
