Samick Baby Grand

I'm also considering a Samick baby grand to go in the corner of my living room. This looks like it fits nicely without taking up too much space. Is it a normal sized baby grand or a petite baby grand? Thank you

Hi Evette, this is a baby grand. The ivory finish gives the illusion of being smaller - and, helpful in not overwhelming one's room.

Hi Dave, client's have found wonderful pre-owned piano's on Craig's List; Chairish; Flea Markets; Estate sales; Antique or Consignment shoppes etc. It may take some research and time to locate a piano for the children but it's possible!

Most of those work together as the brass element is repeated. What flooring are you having in the kitchen (which looks great) as that could really add warmth? Ignore the first pic as that is £xxxxx but I thought the trumpet could be fun for the piano room although DH may hate it! The brass doesn’t match on this particular wall light but something like this would go and should be easy to find. I love the pearl drop light so thought I’d show it to you in case you like it. I really like the pendant in your first pic so have shown this one too, it’s reminiscent of 1930s Parisian jazz clubs. I assume the eichholtz one is actually chrome (as most tend to be!), do you want a similar brass version?

Hi Minnie - thanks so much for taking the time to share your thoughts! You have got me thinking about the piano again, but there really isn’t anywhere else for it to go and, since this will be the more occasional room I’m hoping it’s less of an issue. We bought it on a whim from a friend who was leaving the country, and it’s been at my in-laws’ house ever since because of the building work. If it doesn’t work when we finally get it in situ, perhaps we will need to rethink whether this is a house for a baby grand. The bay IS very deep - the piano would only protrude a little - but still... On the cocktail cabinet - I love the idea of a cart, particularly if it’s on wheels and could move to create space for a Christmas tree Over the festive period (which I would have traditionally sited in the bay window!). This moving trolley could either be in this room or in the adjoining room, freeing up an alcove for storing fire wood, which I forgot about... I did find a potential record cabinet on eBay, but the built in idea could also work. Will price up. Side tables... The Chesterfield is 75cm high - you are right that any table next to it would need to be very tall to be able to reach it, so perhaps we go for two smaller tables in front of the sofa arms instead - easier access from the sofa but also gives the feeling of space in front of it which I think will be important if the piano is to stay. The chair you’ve suggested is super cute, but a shade on the small side. We need something that my mother will be able to get in and out of with relative ease, but I hear you on only having one of them. Perhaps with two small stools to augment seating capacity. I would really like to have seating for 6 in there. Update - we’ve ordered while plantation shutters for the bay up to the transom, and will need to think about adding curtains at some point! Cazsf

I would suggest keeping the chairs as they are and placing a traditional Turkish or similar rug in the room with lots of warm reds. Make sure the rug is big enough for the chairs, coffee table and front legs of the sofa to sit on. I think this will warm up your room and provide a certain gravitas.
