Colour dilemma! Feeling overwhelmed....
Comments (12)I had exact same problem 4 years ago. Our home was looking very tires with all rooms decorated Barley White, with the exception of bathrooms and kitchens in White. With 5 beds, 2 baths, 2 reception rooms and kitchen we were going in circles - the house was just full of small panels of tester pots! I booked a session with Farrow and Ball and Joa Studholme came along and spent 2 hours in our home understanding how we used the rooms and our plans for the future. She then came up with a colour scheme that we absolutely love - it took us 12 months to completely redecorate but I still like the scheme now. In short there are lots of services out there to help with colour schemes. It's easy to look at photos in books/sites but they can look very different your home due to light and aspect of the rooms. When you consider the cost of decorating and getting it wrong, then it is well worth spending a few hundred pounds on professional advice....See Morebathroom wall colour dilemma
Comments (3)Hi Diana If you want to address the flooring, you could break up the brown by using a vinyl 'rug' on top of the existing Amtico. Graham & Green do a lovely one (https://www.grahamandgreen.co.uk/moroccan-tile-mats) And there are lots of other less costly versions around (try e.g. https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/251849071/floor-vinyl-rug-vinyl-mat-tiles-pattern?ga_order=most_relevant&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_search_query=vinyl mat&ref=sr_gallery_22) You could then choose the wall colour to tie in with whichever rug you choose. Alternatively, you could go for a warm grey tone that will work well with the marble and still be warm enough to carry the floor. Something like Farrow & Ball Cornforth White (although I would definitely get a tester of this before committing to it - it has a remarkable ability to change colour depending on the light in your room!). Good luck Rebecca...See MoreLayout Dilemma Help needed !!!
Comments (12)Thank you so much Rinq, I totally agree, the easiest and cheapest solution would be to pinch a bit of room from the larger over the garage bedroom and fit an en suite there like Jonathan suggested. I think one the same width of ours in the master would be more than enough, noticed you made it quite a bit bigger :) . I also think that I am going to add an extra window to the funny shaped bedroom at the back to make it brighter in there and fit a king size bed by the window creating one of those alcove beds either built in or find a nice four poster and paint it the same colour as the walls to visually disappear but give a bit of drama for visiting guests and a little giggle as they climb in and out :) Thank you both, I am so glad I posted as I feel I have a clearer idea now....See Morecolour dilemma for bathroom
Comments (8)In looking at the wall board, it seems there are several shades you could pick out to use, ranging from a very dark charcoal gray to a sand. If you went dark, you could create an intimate space with some shine elements in chrome or rose gold fixtures or accessories....See MoreAngel E
