Need help on flooring for Edwardian house with contemporary extension
Comments (21)Hi AR, Tiles/Wood effect tiles are an option however you'd be surprised where real wood flooring can go. All our engineered/solid wood flooring is suitable for any room excluding wet rooms. The advantage over tiles is that it can be easily repaired if scratched/damaged. Also in terms of heat, if used with underfloor heating it will hold the heat for longer periods of time as tiles tend to disperse heat faster. Wood is a better natural conductor of heat as opposed to stone/tile, hence why we use them with fireplaces/barbeques etc. (please only use engineered wood flooring with underfloor heating). Not only that but if you wished to change the colour of the floor in 20-30 years it is easily done by simply sanding and applying a stain/varnish. Our flooring has been used in restaurants/bars hotels, as well as residential properties, so do not rule it out as there are many designs/styles available from standard planks, to antique boards, chevrons, Versailles panels, herringbone etc. Just have a quick look through our projects to get an idea. Comments (3)Good evening Iveta, even we are not based on your area we would love to help find you a solution for your extension and outdoor space. There are multiple options for what you need but first of all there are a few questions to ask. 1. What are you hoping to install the tiles on externally? 2. Do you need a grip finish (advisable with children or if there is chance for build up on the tiles) 3. Are you looking for a 10mm internal and 20mm external tile? I think we have a 300x1200 20mm plank available to us with a 10mm internal option which isn't currently on our website. We would be more than happy to send you samples down to have a look at and offer further advise on your installation. Please take a look at the link here to a few of our wood effect tile collections. http://www.casaceramica.co.uk/style/wood/ You can contact us through the site and we'll offer up further suggestions and answer any questions you may have. We will look forward to hearing from you....See MoreHelp needed to decorate my small playroom/spare room (pretty please)
Comments (16)yes I like the jungle idea possibly, though not sure if should keep with ivy as it matches whats currently there.. , not sure about the shelves or seating by the TV though. In the room next door there is an an 8 seater table, and a kitchen island, so its not as though this is the only place to have seating I guess. I like the ideas of natural look, almost Japanese, bamboo, bringing the garden in, just having difficulty with which wall colours, what to do with the post? keep white or make a colourful feature of it, and also what colour sofa bed, rug, paint on the walls to make everything blend in. It's so difficult, can't go for a lightish sofa, as it would just get too dirty, but I'm open to all ideas and very very much appreciate both yours and Rukmini's I have no idea how to put a room pic together like that so it helps massively. They have a lot of friends round, so a comfy rug /beanbags are also great, as long as we can also put them somewhere away too, so they're not in the way...See MoreHelp with garden design
Comments (13)Thank you all for the replies - this is inspiring me! Jonathan and rachel - I think you are right about the steps - this probably is a lot of work to do for potentially not much benefit (and yeah it would be another thing to navigate. rachelmidlands - thank you for the advice on raised bed size, I couldn't find out much info about this on the internet. I would take it if I was growing herbs like rosemary 60cm would be ideal? minnie101 - that photo looks amazing - I love the tiles, it looks almost like an outdoor carpet (are they porcelain?). I would love to see some examples of a coffee-to-dining table, I've not come across that before. Tbh, dining outside just isn't too important for me, but a nice place to relax with friends? Absoloutely. I am overlooked, however, the tree at the back blocks the closest, the neighbours either side I don't consider too much of an issue. I'd love to add a pergola over the seating, that sounds like a great idea! I'd be curious if your plan with the water feature actually worked with cancelling out the noise from your neighbour? I have pretty much the same issue with a family next door and it would be good to have some more peaceful background noise!...See Morebelindacarrie
