Are the bulbs visible from the bottom without the diffuser?

I am looking at this light for a 10'x12' guest bedroom. It would be the only overhead lighting. There is a small, rather dim light that sits on the dresser.

Yes. They are visible if the diffuser is not included. Based on your room size, I'd suggest you go with a minimum of 18" wide shade (18" x 9") and 3 bulbs. Include the diffuser to hide the bulbs, diffuse the light, and give the shade a cleaner look.

It's a tough one! It all depends on the aesthetic you are trying to create. For a flat panel kitchen I think it looks more simple to go for a handless design, and have cut outs in the cabinet doors instead, or push to open doors. Alternatively, for a Shaker style kitchen, I would recommend long pull bars, as I personally think Shaker furniture looks a little strange with out some kind of handle. If you wanted a statement light that was a bit "out there" then check out the melt pendant light by Tom Dixon. They do a mini melt too. They are pricey but they are are absolutely gorgeous when you see them lit at night - I'm so in love with them and am seriously craving one for my dining room. They have a mirror finish when switched off and then turn translucent when on and come in gold, silver or copper.

I have thought about curtains - but as the window is so wide, we would need quite a lot of length to be able to hold them back. There’s also a column rad on that wall - so wouldn’t want to cover that up. Also the window frame goes right into the apex, so there is no wall for any track. I will certainly investigate further though… Thank you.
