New Light Switch

Hi
Thanks for letting me join
I have just had my walls plastered and removed this switch but didn’t take note of where the wires came from
Can I ask how to rewire it or if I can replace it with the pictured new WiFi switch
I have 2 cables in the wall both Red Blue Yellow and both reds are live?
Any help would be great thanks

Ahhhh.... best to get a pro in to sort this- but in future if you do this again use sharpie colour pens to colour each cable and photography before you disconnect -and only ever with the electrics off !!!!

Maybe post a photo of the wiring.

red/yellow/blue (+ presumably an earth) hints at the switch being on a two way circuit, like a landing light with one switch upstairs and one downstairs, or one each end of a hallway for example?

The photo shows a two gang switch - were both being used with one cable in each or both cables into one side? That sonoff switch looks like it's a single gang and it also requires a neutral at the switch which it doesn't sound like you have (a common problem with smart switches).

Motion sensors have a minimum energy consumption, depending on the type of motion sensor some of them may use about a watt of energy on standby mode (23 hours a day) and 5 watts on active mode (about an hour a day), so they are energy efficient if they are installed in medium-to-low traffic rooms, like closest, bathrooms, storage rooms, etc.. I would not suggest to use it for a heavy traffic room like the living room. Since the question here was referring to a bathroom in my opinion this is a viable option.

if the wardrobe is freestanding then you could look at wireless kinetic switches, such as Quinetic, which could be stuck or screwed on the side of the wardrobe with the receiver/switching module somewhere convenient such as the loft. You can add extra switches easily so could have some by the bed and/or in study.

The switch can go anyway for bluetooth (even in a cupboard) as long as there’s power to the light. They then need pairing. You can have an App on your phone.
